@j_bubbie @neveragainlive1 @PierrePoilievre think it’s the size of govt, rather than who is running it that is the problem. we centralize power to bureaucrats 000s of kms from where we might live. Carney is a WEF stooge but would PP make Canadians’ lives better as a whole? I’m skeptical any of them can blunt the machine

🇨🇦 NEW—Toronto police report Jews were the target of 82% of all religiously motivated hate crimes in 2025, despite making up less than 3% of the city’s population. Authorities recorded 81 anti-Jewish hate crimes as antisemitic violence continues to surge across the GTA.

This prof has a prolific history of posted and reposted anti-Israel memes, some of which are pretty hard-core, but there is no danger of him losing his job.

🚨 This weekend, a taxpayer-funded Islamic charity (@MACNational) will feature multiple speakers at its annual convention in Toronto with alleged ties to terrorism and extremism. When multiple Islamic terrorist attacks have been foiled in Canada, Canadians deserve answers as to why individuals accused of ties to Islamist extremism are being permitted to enter the country and speak at a taxpayer-supported convention hosted by a registered charity that has itself faced serious accusations. Our Digital Director, @rickfirth, digs deeper.

Following the terrorist attack at a Hanukkah event in Sydney, Australia in December, Toronto city councillors @PasternakTO and @MikeColleTo called for an intergovernmental task force, led by the RCMP, to address violent acts of antisemitism. But in the six months following, this task force has not materialized, even after repeated violent incidents. To help us understand what role such a task force might play, and why Ontario's lax bail conditions may be a big part of the problem, HRC Assistant Director Rob Walker sits down with Councillor Pasternak.

Want to know how you’re being duped? Check this out. Watch this video of Israelis singing “Ivdu Et Hashem Besimcha”, which means “Worship God with joy.” Then see this article. theguardian.com/world/2026/may… The guardian reports this as “Israeli nationalists chant ‘death to Arabs’ in violent Jerusalem Day march.” A blatant lie on all fronts. It was a beautiful and peaceful march and they weren’t saying anything about death to Arabs. Serious question. How is this allowed? Imagine such an article about literally any other ethnic group or race. Imagine a march of LGBTQ singing about equality and the media reporting it as “LGBTQ chanting ‘Death to straight people’” Imagine the outrage. A peaceful march of feminists singing about women’s rights being reported as “Violent feminists call for death to all men.” People would lose their minds! And yet, when it’s Jews or Israelis the media is defaming, no one says a word. So, someone tell me, what’s it called when you make up lies about Jews and spread those lies to millions of people?

The Toronto Star continues to give an open platform to anti-Israel radicals who have in our view downplayed the murderous nature of Islamic terrorism and instead repeatedly demonized the Jewish State. On May 5, the newspaper printed an opinion column, “When Canada was turned away at the border,” by Taha Ghayyur, executive director of Justice for All Canada, Ahmed Ramadan, advocacy officer and campaign specialist for Justice for All Canada, and Sarah Khan, a pediatric physician and member of the Canadian Muslim Healthcare Network. The authors complain that, in a December “fact-finding visit” to Judea & Samaria (“West Bank”) – which they attempt to assure readers was most definitely not a publicity stunt – they suffered the indignity of “aggressive questioning” by Israeli soldiers. Predictably, no mention was made by the writers as to why Israel would be wary of a group of anti-Israel activists entering a highly sensitive area beset by ongoing Palestinian terrorism, and instead Israel’s moves were characterized as being needlessly punitive, apparently for no reason at all. Indeed, Ghayyur, Ramadan and Khan write that “since Oct. 7, 2023, international media access to Palestine, both in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank, has been severely restricted,” though they do not offer any insight for readers as to why that might be, including the near-incessant attempts by Palestinian terrorists to launch attacks into Israel, whether through stabbings, car-rammings, rocket fire or other assaults. CIJA's VP, Pacific Region, @nicoslobinsky made the following statement after the City of Vancouver's recent ruling from its integrity commissioner: "At a time when Jewish Vancouverites are experiencing increased hostility and antisemitism, words matter. Councillor Sean Orr has yet to show accountability for past social media posts, including claiming that city planners were controlled by a "secret cabal of Jews," and calling for the "destruction of both Israel and Canada." "Councillor Orr must take responsibility and retract his past statements, explain his actions, publicly apologize, and commit to learning about the harm he has created."

The Canadian Jewish community is “questioning its future” amid escalating antisemitism unprecedented in the last half century, the head of a prominent Canadian Jewish organization said this week. The comments come after the Canadian Jewish community has faced more violent attacks in just over four months of this year than in all of last year, putting 2026 on track to be the most violent year for the Jewish community this century. “The worsening crisis has left members of the Jewish community questioning their future in this country,” Simon Wolle, B’nai Brith Canada’s Chief Executive Officer, told JNS this week. “No Jewish community in this country has been left unscathed over the past several years; across Canada, Jews are fearing for their collective safety and their ability to practice their faith openly.” He urged the Canadian government, which has been highly critical of Israel, to immediately take decisive action to secure Jewish life in Canada and hold perpetrators of hate and violent extremism accountable. Last week, the Jewish advocacy organization cited 11 violent antisemitic incidents nationwide, including multiple synagogue attacks, since Jan. 1, surpassing the 10 violent incidents documented during all of 2025. About 400,000 Jews live in Canada, mainly in Toronto and Montreal, making it the fourth-largest Jewish community in the world. Jewish News Syndicate
