Bordering on LLM psychosis but I make lots of gifs and ezgif(dot)com's upload speed sucks Built a PWA mp4-to-gif clone w/ @FFmpeg - nice GUI w/ all options I care about & none I don't No upload time + faster encoding. Has a desktop icon. I will be its only user ever. Glorious

Grateful to be part of this - the other hackers shared a few ideas that are already influencing my work in the space 🤔 Thanks again to @theworldlabs for the generous invite! Had a blast and can't wait to release STARSPEED 🚀

3D is becoming an interface for creating and interacting with worlds 🌎 Earlier this month, we brought builders together in SF to explore that idea at our first World Labs Hackathon. Here’s a glimpse of what they built. Interested in joining the next one? Let us know!

Today, Descent II celebrates its 30th birthday. Published on March 13, 1996, it is considered by fans to be the best in the franchise. One of its biggest strengths was the complete freedom of movement: no limitations, total six degrees of freedom (which set it apart from other FPS games at the time). But it also came at the cost of sometimes feeling lost or even nauseous. The guide bot helped reduce disorientation, but you still needed a strong stomach for the rollercoaster sensation of flying through tight corners and labyrinth-like mine layouts. Happy 30th, and thanks for the memories!

Gameplay takes place in a starfighter cockpit but this "Metal Gear"-like talking head system gives me good options for storytelling and character within that framework STARSPEED beta starts next week!

As I craft my narrative, this tool gives me incredible control over a whole cast of characters' emotions, intonation, pacing, physicality & phrasing. My lifelong penchant for doing dumb voices is useful at last! And I may not be the only actor in the game this time around...

I'm a "voice man" at heart. For my new game STARSPEED's campaign, I built a custom facial mo-cap + dialog recording app. It's wired into @elevenlabs' AI voice changer to sync back to .vrm avatar animation automatically. Made w/ MediaPipe & @threejs

@GabRoXR @dmvrg @Spectacles Meta has a microgesture API for Quest that’s a great joystick analog and works super reliably and I wish was available everywhere - but no idea if Spectacles hardware could reasonably support it

Here is why I love and hate this web-based #AR game built by @dmvrg on @Spectacles . I love it because: - It runs on the web and it is inspiring to see more and more experiences running across platforms and without installation needed - The game is stunningly simple and works incredibly well - It is a format that I can see myselfplaying at a bus stop and quickly put away I hate it because: - The spectacles kept overheating and I had to restart from the beginning to reach a measly 1600 final score - Waving my arm around is not ideal, and I see the wristband or other forms of microgestures much more suitable for this format Looking forwrad to seeing where this is headed and testing more utility-driven lenses coming up this year. On Fri I competed in the 4-hour @theworldlabs /@a16z hack-a-thon in SF! I added eye-tracking-based flight controls for Vision Pro to their open source @sparkjsdev, and my games ‘Shadow’ and ‘STARSPEED’ were both featured in the opening video among the best uses of the tech so far

My interview w/ the great @GabRoXR is out now! We talked about making web games with gaussian splats using @theworldlabs tech, how AI can power new kinds of gameplay, and the need to be obsessed with quality in every aspect. Check it out here: youtube.com/watch?v=lor_KC…

This is the first time I've seen The Nanauts in the wild and it's very sweet to watch @GabRoXR welcoming them to Earth! These mixed reality robots will launch on the browser homepage of millions of Meta Quests via @VIVERSEofficial soon!
Gabriele Romagnoli@GabRoXR

There is a new way for developers to publish and monetise their work... directly on the web 🌍 @VIVERSEofficial has just introduced a new Partner Program for creatives. From #XR and #web developers to @openbrushapp artists and video creators. Here are four things that stand out: - You earn per play, not per ad. $0.002 per unique player and $0.001 per repeat play. - It’s open to anyone. No invite, no audience threshold. - It’s non-exclusive. You can still publish on your own site, or anywhere else. - You can embed your VIVERSE build externally, and those plays still count. All the experiences you see in the video are currently available for the headset, published on VIVERSE by talented teams like @jamesckane , Inloco Gallery, Olga Kai and @leapgamestudios and clearly show the many opportunities the web has to offer! #Sponsored
