@johnhenderson I’ve got younger kids so I’m unsure but how does it work in schools now days? Can kids have their phones in pockets or do they have to hand them in?

As a parent, I feel damned if I do and damned if I don't when it comes to my kids and social media. Common sense (and lots of research!) tells me that the likes of Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat do more harm than good to young kids and early teens. But I also don't want my kids to feel left out or excluded from a place where all their friends are, or fall behind when it comes to learning the ins and outs of engaging digitally. 13 is too young for a child to have unfettered access to internet trolling and unrealistic imagery inviting negative self-comparison, not to mention signing away their data to a corporation. I support raising the age limit to 16 and am grateful to @SaysSmithy for using his platform to add urgency to this important issue. How long until Excel formulae are a thing of the past? Surely we're not far off being able to prompt whatever data manipulation we want. Is anyone working on this?

Someone asked what the appeal of the early internet was and I thought a lot about it, IMHO the appeal was that the mix of open source, p2p would fundamentally change the world and that grassroots and community would win over corporatism. Instead now 4-5 companies own the internet

@paultoo Makes sense. Great vision. An interesting observation though, I sense most people still find it awkward and weird to say "Hey Siri... do xxx" in public when walking around with AirPods in? I would've thought that stigma/barrier would be broken by now.

I predict Apple's next big platform is not AR or VR but voice AI, an always-on, realtime conversational AI with good situational awareness -- a voice in your ear always available to answer questions, handle tasks, and offer helpful suggestions, like a smart assistant who accompanies you everywhere. Unlike bulky headsets, AirPods (AIrPods?) are relatively unobtrusive and already commonly worn and socially acceptable.
