@DoctorRyner @Aki1650 @NTE_WL That's a good point, I didn't mean to discredit the craft. I'm focused more on the story side of things, where a writer is trying to convey some deep meaning to the audience. In that case if there's no writer there's no meaning and it's a waste of the audience's time.

THOSE people just treat it as a "tool", that's why their product sucks. Hopefully, I and many other engineers are different and we do creative solutions.

If it were truly a soulless project in such a competitive industry, it simply wouldn’t stand out the way it has. We can’t deny that AI may have been used for certain types of assets that do not represent the final product, but that still doesn’t fully address the underlying issue. As for an official statement from Hotta Studio, we have already reached out and are currently waiting for a response. This may take some time, as it is currently Golden Week in China, which includes several non-working holidays. Regarding the sponsorship situation and the denial of AI use, it’s important to clarify that each department operates independently. This falls under the marketing department’s responsibility in terms of communication with influencers, and the situation was not handled with complete transparency. We are currently awaiting an official statement from the staff regarding the controversy that has emerged. The situation is delicate. While the issue originated in Asia and was actually received fairly positively there, it has now escalated to the point where forums in China and Japan are discussing the controversy being stirred up by the West over what many consider to be a minor issue. There are dozens hundreds dozens of mainstream programming languages, coding styles, libraries, creative solutions, etc. Using AI as a documentation tool or explanation of problems is GOOD, but using AI to write your code is BAD

Writing was created for record keeping, thus it's original purpose was that of a tool. So I wouldn't call writing an art. People just decided to use the tool for a different means. Same with art, started with cave drawings which was just record keeping...thus a tool. Ai will go down the same path.

@Grummz There is a difference between using AI tools and using AI assets. If you use AI to write code, that's a tool. That's no different than a powered screwdriver. If you use AI to generate a story, your story is worthless because it's not a story at all, it's just words.

I don’t care if a game uses gen AI. I care that the game is good. I do agree it should be disclosed, but the problem is every studio is lying because they all use AI now with few exceptions - this was confirmed by two journalists already. So I can’t get “really mad” at studios for not labeling their AI use because it’s just a huge penalty for being honest when everyone else is lying. It’s like view botting on twitch md laying clippers. Everybody does it, and because everyone does it, you would be stupid not to because the playing field is not level or fair and you would take a hit.
