@podoffame @baseball_ref Why must people do this garbage comparison that just set the table for the players to be torn a new one? You think you're "lowering" the bar, but if Sandy Koufax is the bar, then Sale might never even sniff the Hall. Heck, he has almost more CG than Sale has wins (137 to 147)

Yesterday was a big day. Chris Sale made his 314th career start, matching Sandy Koufax’s career total. Now I would personally never pick Sale over Koufax, but if I was going to make a case for Sale to end up in Cooperstown, I would start here.

@NFL_Convo He is not Andrew Luck. Just like Cam Ward last year, two years before that Young. By the way in which modern NFL teams draft, the 1st overall pick will almost always be a QB, but not all 1st overall QB are equivalent. How many QBs have failed early by being thrown to the wolves?

The Raiders planning to start Cousins over Mendoza should tell you exactly how they feel about Mendoza In no world should the 1st Overall pick backup a 37 year old washed QB while they are in rebuild mode

@Najeero @Unduhcover Finals in 2007, when Kobe was being bounced in the first round by Nash. Then Kobe got Gasol and LeBron got... Szczerbiak, West, Smith and Wallace, combined for a crisp 107 min, 31-15-7 in the playoffs. Pau in 40 had 17-9-4. With that he lost to the Celtics in 7... Kobe lost in 6.

@Unduhcover At this time I remember them creating a rivalry between Kobe and the younger, LeBron but LeBron wasn't getting to the Finals that much.

@Hullshow If we are gonna throw around random crap without context, let's put this one out there: The Nuggets went 10-6 without Jokic The Spurs 10-5 without Wemby The Thunder 8-4 without SGA The Lakers are 7-6 without Doncic Everyone on pace for 50+ wins except the Lakers.

Joker is the MVP. Tired of hearing how these other dudes are better. One guy is 10 feet tall but can’t pass. One guy shoots 477 FT’s a night and is single handedly destroying the image of the league. The other plays with LeBron. But that’s not sexy.

@upstatefederlst Balls a hair into the strike zone are called strike (as they should), so the zone is still big enough, is not like it got squeezed into the size of a pack of cigarettes. And not all batters have that discipline. Many will still chase, many will get those hair strikes called.

No it isn't. Full ABS is going to create an offensive explosion the likes of which we have never seen. When batters have a fully consistent strike zone for 500 at bats a year, they will become impossible to get out.
Just A Shark@InnocuousShark

@upstatefederlst It’s gonna flow really well in 1-2 seasons when full ABS comes

@whateverbs99 Since Kevin Love became an AS caliber player in 2010 the Wolves won 114 games in 4 years. In Cleveland he won 110 in 2 years, 140 if you count playoffs. I feel like, yeah, Kevin Love was better despite the more "contained" role he was asked to play.

@Its_Wade This is assuming he would have won his first 2, at least one of which, maybe both, could have VERY likely gone to Giannis or Embiid in this "emotionless and needless to create a narrative" world, since those guys were heavily penalized by playoffs short comings in the pass.

@LoganPAdams @buddyyyoo In a league with Wembanyama, Holgrem, Adebayo and Gobert all playing, saying that Clingan is giving "All D first team" is, by the very definition of the phrase, wrong.

@buddyyyoo they’re the top-two, but Clingan’s giving you All-D first team on one end and strong stuff on offense. Castle’s good, and eats well on Wemby’s gravity, but there’s more portability to Clingan’s impact as a tier-one or two rim protector and rebounder in the entire league.

@BengalYouTube The guy was a magnificent batter in Japan. Heck, even if he absolutely didn't try to bat for average and just concentrates on being a "3 outcomes" player I can EASILY see him batting .250 with 40 HRs, 60 BBs and 150 Ks, which is basically Pete Alonso, an AS for 4 years straight.

@mdotbrown Also because diehard baseball fans, generally, show LOVE for their game Basketball "fans", including 99% of ex-players, seemingly exist only to bitch about their league The fact that the mainstream convo around Bam scoring 83 was about how "fraudulent" it was says everything

MLB improvements over past few years have shown how tough a spot NBA is in. They don’t have a simple strike zone to officiate. They already sped the game up too fast. Their stats and records aren’t as revered. They have half as many games and people still say the seasons too long

@MDBx999 @C_S__ Yeah, and scored more points, and was the better rebounder, and defender, and won more MVPs, and got more accolades, and... dang, what was it that Garnett was better at again?

@hybrid13953419 @dublewrld @C_S__ Sorry to break it to you, but he is definitely a tier above. This is... LeBron vs KD, to put an easy example. All time great players, one is clearly a tier above the other. Heck, you hang your hat on "better arsenal for scoring" when Duncan literally averaged more points.

@klf3681 @D1SCHER Yeah, 3 MVP, 11 AS and 9 SS... those are "traditional" accolades for the HOF, and you better believe that resume is pretty close to slam dunk. Also .295 BA, 400+ HRs, 1000+ RBIs and Rs, 200+ SBs. The only guys with those numbers who aren't in the Hall are the "juiced" ones.

The 5 worst NBA teams have a winning percentage of sub 30%. The NFL had 7 such teams last season. Did it dominate NFL coverage like tanking is for NBA? Nope! Because the NFL knows how to market the good stories and ignore the bad whereas the NBA often seems to do the opposite.

These dudes are all class world athletes. Not saying they’re as good as baseball players, but they’re not just regular joes & I’m fairly confident that a handful of them got baseball background. Outof 162 games? They’re gonna end up winning 1. There are some truly awful teams in the MLB

@tube_you68990 @AriA1exander I will never understand people who don't get that the phrase "the single hardest thing to do in sports is hit a baseball ball with a bat" is as close to literal as it gets. Athleticism ain't helping you with that, it's a skill completely different to anything a person does

34% of the audience thinking an NFL team would beat an MLB team in baseball once is depressingly stupid. The Broncos would go 0-162 and get no-hit nearly every game. They may score 5-10 runs over the course of the whole season.
