@WickyNilliams @benleo444 He said he felt fortunate even when he was stacking shelves. It seems that he wasn't referring to good luck, words are contextual. Fortunate perhaps that he had his health, ambition 🤷🏻‍♀️ But yes double down on your original ill judged comment by supporting it with more bollocks.

@benleo444 Tons of people work hard, say yes to everything, and yet they can't afford a house or the same quality of life their parents had. Acknowledging this is simply acknowledging reality. If you truly appreciate how fortunate you are perhaps do not call those less fortunate "losers"?

Yeah I suddenly walked into a TV presenting job with the click of a finger… I worked in Sainsbury’s, for EDF Energy, the water board, call centres, all from age 17, just to get money. I didn’t care what job I did, I just needed to support myself. I said yes to everything, trusting that I’d one day get there and everything would work itself out. I didn’t turn down jobs because it wasn’t my field or what I wanted or dreamed of right that minute or think I was above anything or anyone. I had no money. I never went to uni. I saved hard for a £5,000 journalism course, I then worked like a dog at local newspapers (still on minimum wage) and at a bookmaker at the same time doing 20 hour days for years just to keep grinding. I spent more hard years commuting to London and back, doing graveyard shifts at papers then waiting at Blackfriars station at 3 in the morning to get home to Sussex and start my other job at 9am. It nearly killed me. For years. 16 years it took me to get here. And you know what? I loved it all. I loved the journey, I loved the dark moments asking myself if it was all worth it. I loved the wins. I loved the hard lessons. And I love what I’m doing now. Yes I have the best job in the world (for me) and I’m incredibly grateful. And I’m still grinding. I’ve just done 14 days straight, travelling to Texas, Florida, then DC. Doing a three hour show every night. But I recognise how fortunate I am. I always have, even when I was stacking shelves. I didn’t just turn up at a studio and start presenting. Most importantly I never played the victim.

@JENBROOK8 @QcWynter I haven't used a handbag for years. I choose coats and jackets based on whether the pockets have closures. I never use my phone on the street... I was reacting to the fact that it now seems grown men are using socks as wallets because it's so much worse.

@jellrunning @QcWynter It was "How have we come to this? 🥲" that gives the impression that you believe the rhetoric that our cities were safe before. They weren't. Oxford Street in London was rampant with professional pickpockets decades ago. I used to wear my handbag underneath my jacket or coat.

My son treated me to breakfast yesterday. When time came to pay, he reached down beneath the table & pulled cash out from his sock. "Why are you keeping money in your sock?" "Safer than keeping it in my pocket" I was stumped. He is a huge man, with whom no one ever messes.

@JENBROOK8 @QcWynter Do you think I thought it was new? Of course I didn't. It is more frequent and blatant though.

@jellrunning @QcWynter Street robberies are not new. Loads of cases in Victorian newspapers. Highwaymen were a HUGE problem at one time as well. Think South Africa and car jacking.

@myhipusername @PrishaMosley It is a badly worded post tbf, and the testosterone did it's job unfortunately. Which is why if you only see ftm faces they can initially pass, until you see hands and hips. Or their height, their walk, hear them speak. Shouts and screams are really bad, as we saw last week!

@PrishaMosley People in these comments are not passing the vibe check nor doing some simple research as Prisha detransitioned. Born a woman, transitioned to a man and is now living as her true self again. A woman and a mother!

I’m taking a poll. Women, are you okay with getting undressed in a changing room with a man who identifies as a woman if you’re the only two in there? Please be honest, and I’d appreciate it if this could be seen as widely as possible for the sake of accuracy. As for me, I chose answer two.

@DonaldPond6 @PostOffice Depends what value you put on your time. Having to then mess around, queue back up for the sake of £11, not worth it

Had to send a parcel today so went to @PostOffice and put it on the scales. That's £17. But it said £6 online I said. That's if you buy online. So I left the queue, bought online, then waited in line, showed my QR code on the phone and paid £6. Why make it so difficult?

I fear this might be my most controversial take ever, but I agreed to put it to a vote so here we are. Hoodies should only be worn by men young enough not to look silly carrying a skateboard.
