@peterme The Sandman is our new fave. Very well done. Based on the graphic novel by Neil Gaiman.

Is there some TV show I'm missing? Looking for something good to watch, episodes in the 45-minute range. Genre fare preferred. Assume I know of big obvious releases. Thanks.

More than once, inheriting a team, I was told I needed to manage out known underperformers. Every time, what I saw was that the designers were capable, talented. But they were working in a suboptimal context. Improving the environment improved the work.

#ResearchOps folks: join us this Thursday, 4-5pm ET, for a free session with @jencardello and Jen Otto. They’ll discuss "learning velocity,” and its role in measuring research outcomes at Fidelity. rfld.me/3hxWcVf

If you had to be on a reality/game show, which would it be? (Many said Family Feud last year) Most under rated snack. Your life is made into a movie, name one song/artist that will be on the soundtrack. A new food you tried recently—and your thoughts on it. (4/4)

Every semester I develop new ice breaker questions that try to avoid revealing class background (this is the issue with ‘what did you do over the summer?’ ‘what are your hobbies?’). Here are some from this/previous semesters (many are food related): (1/4)

What’s the best online pharmacy? I’ve waited at our local Walgreens under the harsh fluorescent lights for over an hour watching an understaffed team of pharmacists try to serve a huge line of people. I’m done. Who does online overnight delivery and will take insurance?

@ldebett This happened to us on a much, much smaller scale. Our in-network pediatrician’s office had our son see another doctor *at the same practice* for his physical. We were billed $800 because she was not in-network. Is this like a hair salon? Are they renting chairs out to drs???

If your hospital is in-network, every single person there that touches any part of you, your labs, imaging, or your medical record should ALSO be considered in-network.

@NaomiKritzer Ah the surprise billing from the neonatologist who “doesn’t accept insurance” (like he’s frivolous and not necessary for children in the city he serves to survive). It’s how we ended up filing for bankruptcy. Wrote about it here. twitter.com/megsyperk/stat…

I find myself recommending Jen Cardello's presentation frequently. Her approach to scaling user research is a great model for organizations looking to make their user research practices more proactive. youtube.com/watch?v=BmJ2If…

I hope this thread helps clarify & contextualize situations you may have seen before or will see in the future. Again, context matters most. So use these anti-patterns as guideposts not as definitive truths. Best of luck👍🏾

For many operationally-focused leaders, this is hard to justify. Not because creativity does not drive positive ROI. It very much does. But because everyone attributes the positive returns to “logical” business reasons so they can sound smarter in meetings. Creativity loses.

Product creativity dies most often due to a lack of buy-in from the right people. That’s why, in most companies, the hardest part of product creativity is not the ideation. It is the negotiation.
