@LDS_Dems You left out the part where this was a deal to the IRS for Trump to drop his $10 billion case against the IRS. Not only does Trump get none of this money, it goes to victims who were locked up in solitary confinement for months with no due process.

So Trump is going to use $2B in tax payer dollars to hand out cash awards to Jan 6 cop beaters? I am out of words to describe the blatant corruption and grift.

I’m pro-freedom, pro-law and order, pro-limited government, and pro-the Declaration and the Constitution. And so today I’m a Democrat.

Apart from the rest of the stupidity in this post, it’s genuinely idiotic to talk about doctrinal or “moral” drift in a Mormon context. Our religion was made to evolve over time! Change—further light and understanding—is our doctrine!

There is a lot happening, but the Republican party going through and systematically destroying Black representation for millions of people is easily the biggest story going on right now. No votes, no discussion. All because 6 unelected Republican partisans decided it.

I know it's fashionable now to panic about trends like this because it's evidence of antisocial behavior, phone addiction, the teen loneliness epidemic, etc. but my bold, counterintuitive take is that fewer children drinking alcohol is a good thing.

If he caves on this, be ready for a blue tsunami. There is no issue that older, reliable black voters care about more than voting rights and representation. Every single statewide office will go blue.

In that time: ➡️ SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act, 6-3 ➡️ SCOTUS reversed itself in Alabama, greenlighting a map it had previously struck down for diluting Black votes, mid-primary, with ballots already cast ➡️ Tennessee Republicans gerrymandered Memphis into three districts to disenfranchise Black voters ➡️ South Carolina moved to eliminate the state's only Black-held congressional district ➡️ Louisiana suspended an active election mid-vote to redraw maps that disenfranchise Black voters ➡️ Trump had the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool painted resort blue under a no-bid contract ➡️ A 22-foot gold Trump statue was blessed by evangelical leaders at his Doral resort ➡️ The FBI opened a criminal investigation into the reporter who covered Kash Patel's drinking ➡️ Commerce Secretary Lutnick repeatedly contradicted himself before Congress about his Epstein ties ➡️ The Strait of Hormuz is still closed ➡️ Gas is near record highs The country cannot take another three years of this assault on equality, competence, and the rule of law.

Of course they did, this Supreme Court is an arm of the Republican Party

There is nothing subtle about what the Supreme Court is doing. They gave Trump legal immunity, and now they are trying to give him political immunity.

One of the greatest honors of my life was leading the dedication of President Donald J. Trump’s statue to the world. What amazes me is how quickly some people have compared this beautiful statue, created and made possible by more than 6,000 patriots, to a golden calf or idol worship. Let me be very clear. We worship the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone. The Word of God says, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Exodus 20:3. It also says, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.” Matthew 4:10. That is the line. Honor is not worship. Respect is not idolatry. Celebration is not bowing down to a false god. Romans 13:7 says, “Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” Giving honor where honor is due is biblical. Bowing down and worshipping an idol is sinful. There is a major difference. This statue was not created for worship. It was created as a symbol of resilience, patriotism, courage, and gratitude. It was created to honor a man whom many may disagree with, but millions of Americans believe has done extraordinary things to make this nation stronger. People celebrate athletes, musicians, entertainers, and cultural icons while they are still alive. Michael Jordan has a statue in Chicago. Cristiano Ronaldo, Taylor Swift, Shakira, Ed Sheeran, and many others have been honored publicly in different ways. Yet Christians were not screaming “golden calf” over those moments. So why now? You may dislike President Trump. That is your choice. But you are in gross error if you think for one second that I worship this magnificent statue or anything made by human hands. Acts 17:24 says, “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.” My worship belongs to God. My gratitude can still honor people. My faith is in Christ. My respect for a leader does not replace my reverence for the Lord. Before you judge, condemn, or spread false accusations, use spiritual discernment. 1 John 4:1 says, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God.” Some of you know the voice of the Holy Spirit. Listen to that voice before you give room to the devil through lies, slander, and false judgment. Ephesians 4:27 says, “Nor give place to the devil.” We can disagree politically and still tell the truth spiritually. This was not idol worship. This was honor. This was gratitude. This was patriotism. And above all, Jesus Christ is still Lord.
