I often get asked whether we use GPUs to accelerate search at @topk_io. We don't. And it's not because GPUs aren't fast. 🧵

3/ Serverless. Keeping all data on local disks is expensive, especially when most of it is not needed most of the time. The solution is to use cheap object storage for durability with stateless compute + cache for performance. turbopuffer is the prime example here

It’s always great to be back in San Francisco! With a strong crew from @Apify, we’re heading to @aiDotEngineer World's Fair next week. This year, we’re going full yolo mode: 🎪 We’ll run a large booth at the expo floor, right next to the swag shop. 🗣 On Thursday, I’m presenting two talks: “x402 isn't good (yet)” at 12:05 pm on the agentic commerce track "MCP doesn't suck - your agent does" at 1:55 pm on Expo Stage 2 🌇 And finally, on Thursday evening, together with @joinmassive and @topk_io we’re hosting a rooftop afterparty in European Startup Embassy. More than 1,000 people registered, waaaay above the capacity 🙈 On top of that, we have a big surprise (or two) coming up this week, so stay tuned. If you’re around at AIE, don’t be shy and come say hi!

A lot of new sandboxing companies focus on running sandboxes fast. This is not really even half of the story of a successful product. It's an interesting feature but not really a differentiator. What matters is what you built on top and around. Network policies and firewall, security, observability, deployment options, storage options, etc.

"Just let the agent access our documents." Sounds simple, until you try to build it. Here's the entire system hiding behind that sentence - and how you can ship it in a day with one tool 🧵
