Tari just gonna shoot 5% from 3 for the rest of the season or we getting some insane positive regression in the playoffs?

Clippers been told to lose this game. Every time it's a 1 score or tie game they take wild shots and miss free throws then don't play defence. As soon as it's back to 5+ they play normal. Eyes don't lie it's so obvious

@funakistats Ok, Okogie was not a key offseason signing. I’m pretty sure he signed for the veteran minimum. He was a good signing for the Rockets

DFS and Okogie didn’t play at all in the first half… Struggling to think of another franchise that has ever dropped $15m+ on “two key off season signings” only for them to both be unplayable by April Holiday and Tate getting 100% of their minutes

Shots aren't falling from deep but Tari is playing with controlled aggression and making a positive impact. 7 rebounds, 3 of them o-boards, a steal and 14 points. He's a +11 — best of any Rocket.

Alperen Sengun offensively looks like a completely different player past 3-4 games, this is the player that needs to continue to show up. The defense can get figured out if this continued play stays around.

@RooshWilliams I’m not disagreeing with you, but Tari was also one of the very best 3 and D wings in the NBA for the first month and a half. It’s like a Jekyl and Hyde season. He’s not as bad as he’s playing now but I don’t know how to explain it or how he gets out of this slump.

Tari Eason has been one of the worst players in the NBA for the last month and a half. Extreme tunnel vision every time he touches the ball. Makes dumb decision after dumb decision. His defense has fallen off, too.

@RedNinetyFour I’ve got to believe those three players are enough to build a good team around. None of them may be the best player on a championship team. It’s rare to get a top 5 player in the NBA. I’m trying to think of a team that won by trading for 30+ year old stars besides Boston

I didn’t know the numbers, but this is why I said yesterday that I want to see what Alpi/Reed look like when surrounded by the right athletes before jumping to the conclusion that they aren’t viable together defensively and blowing it up. Amen is the perfect start to that.

@ItsAlexTheVI It was a fluky 2nd seed. Everyone was so close that easily could have been a six seed last year also. Adding KD to replace Jalen Green definitely sent the expectations through the roof. How could they not? We took the warriors to 7 games and JG was a zero

@HorryForThree Stone has done a pretty good job drafting. Of course, it’s a small sample size but Sengun was a great pick. Tari until this god awful slump was also a good pick. Adams and KD were very good trades. Dillon and FVV were good FA signings. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree

A lot of dialogue on Ime needing an offensive assistant, but I wonder if Stone needs a player eval assistant. He's clearly very good at the business & contract side. But when it comes to player evaluation, drafting & working the margins, it seems like a weak spot for him

@freewrlld I think FVV is a starter on this team and helps, but come on. FVV is no world beater. Dude shot 37% from the field last year. That is really bad.

Rockets up 13 under 3 … - Multiple flat blown defenses, 2 of which were on Durant & Sengun - Shots early in shot clock, particularly long range ones. - 4 different players bringing the ball up the floor, zero awareness - Sengun 8 sec penalty while all 4 other Rockets on the floor had their head in the sand, zero awareness - Coach was a non factor - Durant appeared in a daze - Missed FT when gifted a chance to tie it What’s I leave off?? Dirty, Out!!

@MadManLeaks I think the loss of Dillon Brooks has been underestimated. KD’s defense is a little overrated and is not close to Dillon’s effort level. Dillon was also just a dawg and leader for all these young guys especially on the defensive end.

@RedNinetyFour These guys are all so young that the Rockets need to figure out for sure what they have before moving on. Like they did with Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore

I legitimately thought Alpi was trending towards top 10 status early in the year after some of the monster games he was putting up. And then he fell off a cliff for whatever reason, along with the injury. He’s looking again like the guy he was early on. Obviously, I’m very high on Reed. And I get the concerns about whether they are viable together defensively. But I kind of would rather experiment with finding the right athletes to surround them with (Amen is a great start) rather than blowing it all up and trading Alpi for Giannis.

@fyrebear I hate this narrative. I think it’s common for a team to go after any big even Gobert. Big slow guys have weaknesses when defending fast guards/wings on the perimeter. This is not an Alpi thing

@ftank58 I don’t know how to read this. In no way do I think the Bucks have a better built roster than the Rockets. The Bucks are horrible. Are you saying the Rockets are worse than horrible or that maybe you believe the Bucks roster is better than I give them credit for?

The bucks have a better built roster than the Rockets .. and in the east they are mid.. so trading Giannis to a worst built team you will gut to get him will somehow be the best move? And this isn’t even considering the fact he’s gonna be 32 by the time he’s here and is chronically injured.. are some of you delusional?

@RedNinetyFour Reed was drafted with a Nets pick after the team had turned a corner. Jabari was tanked for. A cornerstone draft pick. Got a $25M extension. And Reed is still a better 3P shooter. Jabari has 10 games scoring 25+ in 4 seasons. Reed has 5 games scoring 25+ this season alone.

Silver lining in the midst of another humiliation is that Alpi’s play after the time off pretty much confirms his play this year was health-related and not regression. Maybe won’t matter if he’s traded anyway but as a fan of the guy, at least love seeing him get back to form.

Even if we dont, competing on high level is fun. Regular season is fun. I just want a team who likes to play with each other. I support Fenerbahce for more than 40 years. we are not winning the title for 12 years and although we have won it 28 times. Its a very big deal. But i dont care. If i feel a connection with the team, its fun for me.

To me winning a ring requires a lot of things. Among them, luck is often underrated. There has been 8 different champions over the past decade. With health being significant than ever and CBA’s devastating dynasties, there is no reason to be pessimistic imo. A well constructed team and a well managed organization, free from panic moves could be enough to win. Teams just need to hang around. Are the Rockets managed/built well? Not exactly. Do they still have flexibility to turn things around? Absolutely. So as long as the Rockets look like a capable “team” with room for growth—I am good. With or without a ring.
James Piercey@JamesPiercey11

If we’re being really than real deal Holyfield. I don’t think getting Giannis gets us a ring. I don’t think this core gets us a ring, or holding out for better draft luck gets us a ring I don’t think we get a ring. Try again in a decade.
