The problem is that the staff are not paid by the owners. The tip is their wages. This practice needs to stop and service people need to be paid a living wage. Then you wouldn't need to tip, it would be voluntary. The prices on the bill would go up yes but at least you would know beforehand what you are paying. The price on the menu is the price that you pay. I hate the US trend of massive hidden charges for everything. Hotels, restaurants, shops, online goods, flights, concert tickets, and more all carry hidden charges and people end up paying up to double the advertised price. STOP it now. #nomorehiddencharges
