To improve maternal health in @KilifiCountyGov, the #UzaziSalama project works closely with health facilities like Mtwapa County Hospital, and Karimboni Dispensary among others to organise regular "Maternity Open Days." This innovative health approach invites women of reproductive age (WRA) to interact with healthcare providers and receive antenatal care services. During these open days, women are educated about the importance of regular ANC visits, safe delivery practices, and postnatal care. They also have the opportunity to meet skilled birth attendants who assist them during childbirth, thus reducing the risk of complications. @_GarissaCounty, under the leadership of H.E. Governor @Nathif_J_Adam, is taking bold steps to reduce maternal and newborn deaths. In a meeting with @Amref_Kenya, led by @AnneGitimu and other key partners, the governor committed to strengthening healthcare systems. This includes the construction of a 300-bed Mother and Child Hospital to enhance referral services, and the introduction of a "Mother and Child Dashboard" to monitor progress. Governor Nathif also directed the health department - @garissahealth, to organise a county-wide Maternal and Newborn Health Summit to address service gaps and align resources with health priorities. His vision is to ensure that no mother or child in Garissa dies from preventable causes. The Uzazi Salama Programme kicked off its progress review meeting with @MPESA_FDN and @KilifiCountyGov earlier today. Launched in April, the Ksh 225M programme seeks to strengthen RMNCAH outcomes for mothers and children in Kilifi County. The programme focuses on improving access to maternal health, including setting up medical infrastructure and building the capacity of health workers to enhance service delivery. #Amref4PHC @jokelloh
