📙In their literature review on students' #feedback seeking behaviour Leenknecht & @CarlessDavid (2023) focus on motivation. They also show the relationships between feedback seeking, self-reflection, feedback literacy, and performance. 🔄#LecturaRecomendada #autorregulación

Why respect is a massive issue at work. Research shows that for employees, “feeling respected” is 17.9 times more powerful a predictor of an organisation’s overall culture score than the average factor (& almost twice as strong as the 2nd most important factor, supportive leadership). As leaders, we may show disrespect repeatedly in seemingly small ways that have a very negative impact on people & culture, eg, by showing disregard for others’ effort, expertise, time or failing to include them. Three strategies: 1) Make "multitasking" an unacceptable behaviour 2) Treat other people’s time like gold 3) Teach & evaluate listening skills sloanreview.mit.edu/article/are-yo…. True leadership starts with empathy. It’s not just about guiding tasks—it’s about connecting with people on a deeper level, understanding their challenges, and empowering them to thrive. When we lead with empathy, we don’t just inspire action; we transform lives.

Generosity is not about saying yes to everyone. It’s about supporting people who live up to your standards of character. Helping people who are consistently selfish rewards the wrong behavior. A key to healthy boundaries is reserving your time for those who respect your time.

There's a growing appreciation of the importance of trust for team leadership & effective change. As leaders we are signal generators - our smallest actions & interactions can build or destroy trust. I like this piece on powerful, practical ways we can build trust with our team members (& partners, peers & collaborators): medium.com/management-mat…. By Pinnacle Project via @Medium

Kindness isn't always about saying yes. It's often about suggesting someone more available or capable. 6 studies: We underestimate how much others value referrals. Making connections shows care. More demands require more boundaries. If you can't open your calendar, open a door.

Closure is a myth. Grief doesn't evaporate—it waxes and wanes. The purpose of grief is not to cause pain. It's to keep memories of loved ones alive and remind us to make the most of our time. Moving forward after loss is not about erasing sorrow. It's about gaining perspective.

"Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool." Octavia Butler on how to choose our leaders – superb read: mailchi.mp/themarginalian…

The hallmark of expertise is no longer how much you know. It's how well you synthesize. Information scarcity rewarded knowledge acquisition. Information abundance requires pattern recognition. It's not enough to collect facts. The future belongs to those who connect dots.

Many students are showing up to college, even highly selective, elite universities, unprepared to read books. It’s not that they don’t want to, @rosehorowitch writes—it’s that no one taught them how. theatln.tc/Ufaul0om
