@Fitzy__07 Build a bridge and get over it. Hearts have had all season and chances recently to build an unassailable lead. If they lose it on the last day it’s on them.

@AdamHardie89 @Alonso_GD Exactly this. The genocide most people know about is the Holocaust. Gaza is terrible but clearly not the same. If the definition of a word is different to what the majority of people think it is, we get these tedious debates and this one isn’t helping anyone in Gaza.

@Alonso_GD It demonstrates a problem with the definitio, in that it is too broad. This is not to undermine the horror in Gaza, but the intentions are not the same as the holocaust. You would not have needed an equivalent Oct 7th for Hitler to have destroyed modern Israel (hypothetical).

@Oam_16 Too many matches. Also too many delays with mid over commercials, strategic timeouts, reviews of wides and no balls etc. The IPL (and all T20) was once a fun novelty. Now it’s just dull and instantly forgettable.

I'm not in favour of flat tracks at all but I don't think that is the reason for the viewership fall. I think it's due to the T20 World Cup fatigue, and also sharper team identities. The fans may not have the same enthusiasm to watch other teams' games which don't have someone they really look forward to.
GIMO@gimocricket

Reason IPL has become so boring and having viewership decline on TV is because its no more a cricket league... but a BATTING league... there is nothing in it for the bowlers... cricket is only exciting when there is competition between bat and ball. Not batter vs batter.

@Ankaman616 United literally got a goal that went in off Sesko’s fingers. And Bruno could have seen red when he got his yellow. Great player but maybe not the best judge of referees.

@mufcxryan VAR is so bad. Sucks the soul out of the game and even when they spend ages finding and actually proving there’s a handball, they don’t give it. Get it right or get rid of it.

@ZoeJardiniere Polanski was inevitably going to get attention with these attacks following so closely on from his “perception of unsafety” comments. And then the retweet instead of just offering sympathy and condemnation of the attacks. He’s not the hero you want him to be.

The racist double standards of our media & political ruling class laid bare this week like never before: A hysterical response to a frightening crime where Muslim victim is ignored to allow Jewish victims to be used to justify attacks on the Greens & anti-genocide protesters.

@MiguelDelaney @askintoofew @GuillemBalague Why doesn’t the Premier League move a match day or two to August? Teams only play once a week then. And the League Cup has to go sadly. Getting to the semis is a curse with 2 legs to play.

@tomkat1900 @GuillemBalague The results of the league stage more accurately reflect the strength of the teams, I.e when they are all fit and healthy. The results from the last 16 onwards are reflecting the freshness of the teams. PSG and Bayern are both great but they have this big advantage.

@GuillemBalague It’s very clear what he said. Even it may be mostly correct what PSG is concerned, it’s definitely not with regard to Bayern. What he said showed utter disrespect for Bayern as a club, his colleague Kompany and the team. Hypocrite

Mikel Arteta talked yesterday about the French and German league, as he had plenty of evidence that the INTENSITY was lower compared to the Premier League That has been interpreted as the leagues being WEAKER I am not sure that is what he said, unless I am corrected and he did use the word ‘weaker’. There is always a rush in certain quarters to say which league is the best. More intense, means more demands. It does not mean weaker. PSG and Bayern win the league regulary. If City wins it this year, it will be the the 7th time in 9 years and nobody would say the Premier League is weak

@MyNamesGuy @PoliticsJOE_UK This is confected nonsense. I don’t think it’s difficult to vote. Most of the time they are voting on party lines at the end of a long day. There are lots of things that could be improved about Parliament but this really doesn’t matter.

@pedrok111 @alexmassie How frequently do you think Scotland should vote on it? I think it would be a huge distraction to do it more than once every generation. It’s 12 years since the last vote which isn’t that long given how seismic a vote to split would be.

@Charlespurs @OliverKay @SebSB Romero moves to his right to block Brobbey at the last second. I’m not sure what Brobbey is meant to do apart from instantly stop moving. Sometimes accidents happen and it’s not really anyone’s fault.

@OliverKay @SebSB There’s been a few where players have been pushed into the hoardings too, which have resulted in injury. It was just obvious at the time, that’s the frustrating thing. I hate VAR, but if it’s there, then it has to be used in incidents like that. If not, there’s no point having it

It’s strange that referees have created these red lines around player protection - high feet, studs showing - but when confronted with something this dangerous had no idea what to do.
Dale Johnson@DaleJohnsonBBC

Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey should have been sent off against Tottenham, the Premier League's KMI Panel has said. Brobbey pushed Cristian Romero into keeper Antonin Kinsky but escaped a second yellow. Romero suffered a season-ending knee injury. 👇 bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

@GuillemBalague @robbopalmer Genuinely incredible that you are criticising the referee and not the player. Fans hate the way players delay the game like that - it makes the game worse - so it’s great that someone has been punished for it and suffered a real consequence.

I don’t care who went through, Rob. The yellow was given because the ref forgot he had one already. Nobody gets sent off in Europe for that kind of thing, bad ref management You cannot deny Real Madrid could have won the game, and if you remember what Neuer had to do in the first leg, the tie And between us, it is always respectful. Specially when we disagree!

@WG_RumblePants @BenGrahamUK Can we not agree that it’s weird to print “This Season” instead of “This Easter”? I can’t imagine the meetings at Cadbury where they discussed that someone might care if the word Easter was printed on the display and not buy the chocolate egg.

@BenGrahamUK Stop pretending that Britain is a still a Christian country. It’s demonstrably not. It hasn’t been for decades. The percentage of the population that attends church on a weekly basis is 1-2% So cut your divisive, dog-whilstling, populist, rage bait. It’s a bloody chocolate egg!

Britain has been a Christian nation for over 1,400 years. Through wars, plagues, and countless kings, Easter has always been celebrated. Yet now, Cadbury won’t even use the word ‘Easter’ on their eggs. When did celebrating British traditions become controversial?

Trent Alexander-Arnold plays right-back for Real Madrid. Started home and away against Manchester City. He won the Premier League and Champions League at right-back with Liverpool. He’s used to dealing with pressure. He’s taken a decisive tournament penalty. He’s played in the World Cup before. He has occasional defensive deficiencies but he brings a long-range passing skill that few possess. Are England that blessed at right-back that they don’t need Alexander-Arnold? That he isn’t amongst the best 30 outfield players available to Thomas Tuchel?

It’s absolutely diabolical that in such a big professional sport that the day after we still don’t know what the fuck was going on for multiple huge decisions. French tv shouldn’t be able to manipulate games so much and act as a 16th player. And neither should the referee
