KCPF Marches for Life: Why Christian Professionals Are Taking to the Streets Today Today, thousands of Kenyan Christians, led by the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF), will converge on the streets of Nairobi CBD for the annual March for Life, under the powerful theme: “Protecting the dignity of the pre-born child: A national duty.” This is no ordinary procession. It is the visible climax of Life Week 2026 ; a deliberate, week-long season of reflection, education, advocacy, and mobilization that KCPF has organized across virtual and physical platforms. For the Forum, today’s march is not about politics or protest for its own sake. It is a public declaration rooted in Scripture, Kenya’s Constitution, and a deep conviction that every human life is sacred from conception to natural death. Why KCPF Is Marching Today KCPF exists to unite Christian professionals from every denomination around five core pillars: Life, Family, Religious Freedom, Value-Based Education, and Governance. At the heart of all five is the unshakeable belief that life is a God-given gift, not a commodity to be negotiated or discarded. Biblical conviction: Scripture is clear – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” (Jeremiah 1:5). Life begins at conception, and every child bears the image of God. KCPF marches because silence in the face of threats to the pre-born is not an option for those who claim to follow Christ. Constitutional duty: Article 26 of Kenya’s Constitution affirms that “every person has the right to life.” Yet policies, bills, and cultural shifts continue to undermine this right – from attempts to liberalize abortion to emerging debates around surrogacy and assisted reproductive technologies. Marching today is KCPF’s way of reminding the nation that protecting the pre-born is not a religious fringe issue; it is a constitutional and national imperative. A response to cultural and legislative threats: KCPF has consistently highlighted how certain “reproductive health” agendas, comprehensive sexuality education models that bypass parental rights, and emerging practices like surrogacy commercialization erode the dignity of life. The Forum marches to say, loudly and publicly: Kenya must choose life. The march is therefore both prayerful and prophetic – a call to lawmakers, health workers, educators, youth, and every citizen to stand on the side of life. Life Week 2026: Building Momentum Through Virtual and Physical Action The march did not appear in isolation. Throughout March, KCPF has run Life Week – a multifaceted campaign designed to inform, equip, and mobilize the Church and the wider public. This year’s program blended virtual accessibility with high-impact physical gatherings: Life Symposium (Wednesday, 25 March): Held at Cardinal Otunga Plaza in Nairobi CBD, the day-long event brought together policymakers, health professionals, clergy, pro-life advocates, and ordinary citizens. The focus included critical discussions on “Legalizing Surrogacy: Ethical & Human Rights Risks” and “Journeying in Hope with Women and Girls Facing Crisis Pregnancy.” Participants explored compassionate, life-affirming alternatives to practices that commodify women and children. Student and Youth Engagement: The KCPF Students Chapter hosted targeted sessions (including a virtual event earlier in the month on “Students in the Protection of Life”) to equip the next generation with biblical and scientific arguments for the sanctity of life. Virtual Platforms: Daily or weekly online discussions, prayer sessions, biblical reflections, and expert webinars reached professionals, families, and believers across Kenya and the diaspora who could not travel to Nairobi. These digital spaces allowed broader participation and deeper theological grounding. Awareness and Mobilization: Merchandise drives, social media campaigns, and community outreaches kept the message alive in churches, offices, and universities. Life Week has therefore served as both classroom and catalyst – educating minds, stirring hearts, and filling the streets today with informed, passionate citizens. A Call That Goes Beyond One Day As marchers today lift placards, sing hymns of life, and pray along Nairobi’s streets, KCPF’s message is clear: the defense of life is not seasonal. It is a daily national duty that demands ongoing vigilance in legislation, healthcare, education, and culture. The Forum invites every Kenyan – Christian or not – who believes in the dignity of every human being to join this movement. Whether you marched physically today, participated virtually during Life Week, or simply shared the message, your voice counts. Because when we protect the pre-born, we are not only safeguarding the most vulnerable among us. We are preserving the very soul of our nation. #ParentalConsentMatters, #ProtectTheChild,#UpholdLife

I want a world where no woman suffers violence. Where no child grows up in fear. Where girls & boys look ahead and see the same possibilities. Where every person is valued equally. A world where we end suffering. Sharing my interview with @NationAfrica: nation.africa/kenya/news/gen…

Thank you, @SenateForeign for raising these concerns. General @mkainerugaba has himself publicly boasted about @MODVA_UPDF brutality against South Sudanese civilians cited in the UN report. There is no denial. He has also repeatedly bragged about violence against Ugandan citizens including women, and issued death threats against opposition leaders @kizzabesigye1 and @HEBobiwine. Ugandans, South Sudanese, and all the people of our region deserve peace and professional armies accountable to elected civilian governments. Partner governments should not turn a blind eye to such serious human rights violations.
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman@SenateForeign

Uganda has shifted from a reliable security partner to an exporter of brutality. This evidence should kickstart a reassessment of our bilateral relationship. The Admin has implemented serious repercussions for those committing atrocities in South Sudan and this is no different. apnews.com/article/south-…

@Winnie_Byanyima have you read the report your alluding to? which UN body authored it ? Regurgitation of other peoples tweets further exposes your hostile propaganda war against Uganda and @mkainerugaba in particular. Disappointed that the UN leadership has failed to compel you to respect rules barring International civil servants from politicking.

The decision by the East African Community (EAC) to recognize Kiswahili and French as official languages, while historic, raises important questions about the practical implications and strategic priorities of the move. On one hand, the inclusion of Kiswahili is a logical and culturally significant choice, as it is widely spoken across the region and serves as a unifying language for millions in East Africa. On the other hand, the prioritization of French as an official language appears less justifiable given the linguistic realities and geopolitical context of the EAC. If 100% of the EAC population is already proficient in English—a widely recognized global lingua franca—it begs the question why French, a language with limited utility among the EAC populace, is being elevated to official status. None of the current political elites, including presidents, are fluent in French, further underscoring the disconnect between the decision and practical necessity. English, already serving as a working language of the bloc, has facilitated diplomacy, trade, and governance effectively. Introducing French as a competing official language could dilute resources and add unnecessary complexity without offering significant tangible benefits. Moreover, the decision seems misaligned with the region’s historical, cultural, and linguistic context. While French has relevance in neighboring Francophone countries, such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, its inclusion in the EAC’s official language roster appears to prioritize external considerations over internal cohesion and practicality. This decision risks creating a symbolic gesture rather than a functional policy, potentially alienating citizens who see no practical use for French in their daily lives or regional interactions. The resources required to promote and institutionalize French—developing curricula, training teachers, and translating official documents—might be better allocated to strengthening existing systems and expanding Kiswahili’s reach. Kiswahili, deeply embedded in East African heritage, holds far greater potential for fostering unity and identity within the EAC. Ultimately, while inclusivity and multilingualism are admirable goals, prioritizing French in a region overwhelmingly proficient in English and Kiswahili seems to reflect an externally driven agenda rather than a grassroots need. The decision, though historic, warrants deeper scrutiny to ensure that it aligns with the EAC’s developmental goals, cultural identity, and practical realities.
