Australian’s hostile policy position on nuclear power is an international embarrassment. Today the Belgium PM pointed out Australia’s absence at the at the @iaeaorg’s first World Nuclear Summit: 🇧🇪Belgium PM: “Every continent is present except for Australia” As the world goes nuclear, our decision makers must forgo their hubris to think that we can get away with ignoring the potential of nuclear power.

@mattharding Best wricef is no wricef. I also hate the term but the partners keep pushing and pushing it from their position that any form of development is just commodity work.

While I hate the term WRICEFs - In a clean core world, the objective in a WRICEF really needs to be strong to why you need it (and is often written about the requirements without reference to the why) - regardless of how clean it is implemented!

@jasper_07 I’m glad you used experienced in lower case because there really is very little of it around…. Especially on technical sap areas

@js1972 Yes, what I see as well, experienced permies at the pointy end, team augmented with mostly contractors or right shoring

I have seen a statistic a few times recently which highlights in Australia the SAP-related workforce is made up of 75% contractors, while the remaining 25% are permanent employees working for SAP, it's customers or partners

@jasper_07 I don’t think there is a skills shortage. That’s just a silent method of keeping rates/salaries down. Unfortunately outsourcing over the last 15 years means we have almost zero new sap technical talent coming up. So a fake skills shortage will soon turn into a real one.

I keep thinking about this and wonder why we have a perceived skill shortage, I keep coming back to market dynamics, the market wants to hire on a temporary basis at below an FTE salary, not many in the workforce are being incentivized to upskill, they paid to keep the lights on

@tobiashofmann This is fantastic. There was a local consultancy that use to put out a nice glossy one of these years ago (non sap tech).

Unpopular but true: Bitcoin is the most significant monetary advance since the creation of coinage. If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

That many on the right promote nuclear suggests they hate the left more than they hate pollution That many on the left oppose nuclear suggests they care more about ideology than the environment There are *many* exceptions, but this is why energy policy has stalled in Australia

💥Boom💥 Australia’s Qantas under fire for firing staff over mandates! The Qantas board fired people undergoing Cancer remission who could not take the vaccine. The Qantas board remunerated their Board whilst undermining services, firing staff and treating the customer to high prices with less service. The board uses big law firms to bully workers and Pays those firms millions instead of focusing on their brand, staff and reputation. @brandontoombs Wonder if you will be able to export all data that was used to train a LLM, to train another. Afaik, this is not something that is available on any platform. It would be hard to do, as we know migration of historic data can push up costs substantially, due to data model difs

Interesting point raised in #SuccessConnect Keynote about Generative AI and LLM. The info that is fed into an LLM makes it better. I wonder, can you export this "knowledge" if you wanted to move to a different LLM. I think not. A compelling reason to stay on any LLM AI platform

@wombling Yes you can transport to other LLM’s as you are generally not training an LLM you are just stuffing the question and all the related context into the prompt. Only if you fine tuned your LLM would it “gain knowledge” so to speak.
