In the last 10 years, I’ve received at least 10–15 proposals from different doctors to take antidepressants, even though I reached out for consultations about different issues.
Little heart arrhythmia → take Lexapro
Cyclical insomnia → take Lexapro
Nausea → take Lexapro
Are doctors in the USA insane? They come up with mental issues for literally any reason, trying to hook you on horrible pills! 💊 This system is broken!
The commentaries going with this:
You are too alpha
You are too ambitions
You are too anxious
Skinny white pretty women- anorexia.
Sure, I’m alpha and ambitious, so let’s make a zombie out of me.
Idiots honestly !

@raqisright Remember the relevance of their opinion increases proportionally with their net worth.
Basicly if their net worth is less than $20m, their opinion and they themselves are essentially worthless.
English

"You're so obsessed with being skinny"
TikTok comments: You're fat
Boy I had a crush on in high school: You're fat
Men in my group chat: all women should weigh under 110 Ibs
Ex: "you need to lose a few pounds and start going to the gym"
Men on X: I liked you thicker

@amitisinvesting @John_Chungus_5 Bear market? We are a few points from ATH. If people can't handle this just imagine a real bear market.
English

i actually don’t really see your point here
when things are dirt cheap in the depths of a bear market, the goal is to buy them
buffet bought the banks heavily in 2008, massively overconcentrated, because he knew eventually they would recover
it would have been pretty dumb for him to diversify (which is why him and Munger actually arent fans of it) during a bear market when BAC JPM GS were all down 70-80%
in 2022, I just did that with tech before the greatest tech revolution we’ve ever seen with AI
take out $PLTR from this example (which had luck associated with it but TONS of research to find that name) and replace it with something like $META — buying the S&P in 2022 over META at $88 would not have been the strategy
obviously 2022 was not 2000 or 2008, but quite frankly I don’t see how solidifying the port into a few ideas that were down 80% from the highs (not just spec plays but also Mag 7 companies) and riding them back up wasn’t a good idea
obviously you have to be right about the names, but when everything is sold off and generational companies that you know will be relevant in the upcoming decade like a META or PLTR or HOOD that at the time was also $7…or even NVDA which was $11…I don’t see how heavy allocation into those names during a bear market would be a bad idea
but just my thoughts!

@pdicarlotrader What do you mean when you say monthly BX just flipped bullish? Monthly BX has been green for a while and making higher highs for a while

@smithhmackenzie Spot on about high performers. They are their harshest critic

@scaling_shields I've always said this. Anything involving weddings or babies can make some mula
English

the wedding industry relies on a $15,000 "politeness tax" that 83% of couples blindly pay
you pay it the second you say one word
wedding photographer: $4,000
"event photographer" same work same hours: $1,200
wedding cake: $800
"celebration cake" same size same design: $250
wedding flowers: $3,500
"party flowers" same arrangements: $1,100
wedding venue: $8,000
"private event rental" same space same date: $4,000
the word "wedding" is a 200-400% markup trigger
vendors hear it and mentally double the quote before responding
you're not paying for better service
you're paying because you were too polite to ask for the real price first
here's how to stop being the sucker:
step 1: never say "wedding" in the first message
"hi, i'm planning a formal dinner party for about 100 guests on [date]. could you share your pricing and availability?"
get the quote in writing
step 2: reveal after you have the number locked
"thanks for this. just to confirm, this is for a wedding celebration. does that change the pricing?"
what happens:
1. price stays same = you just saved thousands
2. price increases = you negotiate from the lower number
3. price doubles = you walk and find someone honest
the markup by vendor:
photographers: "corporate event" = 40-60% less
florists: "party flowers" = 60-70% less
cakes: "anniversary cake" = 50-60% less
venues: "private event" = 30-50% less
djs: "birthday party" = 40-50% less
catering: "formal dinner" = 30-40% less
the numbers that should piss you off:
- average wedding cost: $35,000
- percentage that's pure "wedding tax": 30-50%
- couples who negotiate: 17%
- couples who get a discount when they try: 64%
83% of couples never question the first quote
they just pay it because asking feels rude
the wedding industry built a $70 billion business on your politeness
one word. one script. $15,000 back in your pocket.
stop paying the tax

@pdicarlotrader Do you wait for monthly BX to CLOSE red before exiting a position? Say last month is green but this month is starting off red.

@l_i_n_d_z__ I love to sit and ponder. It's a form of meditation for me to sort out my thoughts

@Nostalgic_Earth Something is going around. Knocked me on my ass the last couple days and still fighting it
English

@skylarromines @lispbiftatits Can't even tell your size because you dress like a proper lady. But I could definitely see more hate from other women
English

@lispbiftatits Sigh. This explains how I get treated on Twitter
English

@trentjhughes Yes sales can be this way but it's not for everyone. You have to be a self starter and build a clientele over time
