This is supposedly at a @torchystacos in Houston... Rice village to be exact. Torchy's is not full service... It is counter service and you get your own drinks. 20% tip for you to bring my food to me is stupid, and if the restaurant does charge service fees then I will take it out of the tip I am over "tip culture"

According to Trump, “homes are for people, not corporations,” so he wants to permanently ban corporations that own 350 houses from buying more. Apart from the fact that corporations are owned by people, this misguided policy means that people who want to rent homes will pay more.

The American Dream doesn’t belong to the highest bidder on Wall Street. It belongs to the American people, who work hard, save up, and play by the rules. I applaud President Trump’s leadership on this issue and urge the House to pass this bill.

You’re stuck in a weird spot when your net worth is somewhere in the $500k to a $1m range IMO. It’s not small, but it’s not “set for life” either. You clearly notice the money, because it improves your lifestyle. You can pay off debts, spend more freely, and enjoy things like travel or better food. But at the same time, it’s not enough to quit working and live comfortably for the rest of your life due to the massive inflation, and especially if you’re still relatively young.

@KurtSupeCPA Again a reflection of this corrupt system we pay into that successful men who provided, paid taxes paid in ssn and raised their kids to be good humans have to contemplate fear due to a healthcare and political class system built to bankrupt the very souls that fund it!

Kurt Supe, CPA & Retirement Planner
I was sitting with an 80 year old. I asked him what advice he'd give himself at 55. He didn't think about it. He said: Stop saying I'll retire next year. The good years in retirement go by fast. He told me he said it at 55. Then 58. Then 62. He finally walked away at 67. His wife wasn't up for long trips anymore. They never saw the grandkids grow up the way they planned. He said: The years you think you're buying with one more year of work. You're not buying them. You're spending them. I've been thinking about it ever since. This doesn't mean you have to stop working. Some people love what they do. Some people need the structure. Some people aren't financially ready and that's a real conversation. The question is different. Are you living life on your terms?

@Cryptoboyy_Aji Sad to see this happen in our country but when taxes go to a bottomless pit and career politicians who folks vote for cause 200k to become Middle class you don’t have a country on the upswing but rather the downward trajectory @elonmusk

sorry to say this but… $200k income is now middle class. a person making $200k is taking home about $10,500/mo after tax. median spending by US family with two kids is $8,600 this leaves $2k for saving, investing and special purchases. middle class.

My dad died 9 months ago. 55. I remember getting the call from my little brother. "Dads gone." were the only words he could muster after rendering performative CPR on my father who had clearly passed, just to give my mother a glimmer of hope. It was sudden. But not surprising. My heart ached. But my spirit was at peace, knowing he had entered into the perfect presence of the father. Death never makes sense. Even less when it's early. Even less when it was preventable. He's with me every day. Even though I long for him. It's beautiful. And angering. It can be both and. Hug your kids. Kiss you wife. Get off your freaking phone. You never know when it's going to be your last day.

The American middle class is reaching a terrifying realization: You can do everything right and still lose. Budget. Work overtime. Cook at home. Pay debt down. Then insurance doubles. Utilities spike. Groceries jump again. And suddenly you’re drowning anyway.

If your portfolio hit $500,000 tomorrow would you finally feel financially secure, or would you immediately move the goalpost to $1,000,000? That answer tells you everything about why most people never feel wealthy no matter how much they build.

I’m DONE. 60 FUCKING YEARS of sweat. A hard fought degree. Busted my ass. Raised a good kid. Paid every damn tax. Obeyed every law. Voted like they told me to. And for what? A system that laughs in our face. Politicians who lie straight to our cameras. Promises of “better days” that were just bait. While THEY cash checks and WE get the bill. We built this country. We carried it on our backs. We’re the suckers who still believe in “hard work pays off.” Newsflash: It doesn’t. Not anymore. Not for honest, humble, middle-class Americans. We’re not “slaves” anymore. We’re awake. We’re pissed. And we’re not shutting up. Who else is fucking DONE being exploited? This ends now.

Just got off a call with a childhood friend His wife has cancer, it took 5 months to wipe out 20 years of his life savings and that was with insurance. He said the experience has turned him into a hateful, bitter person. They did everything they were told. They went to college, got degrees, avoided credit card debt, spent wisely, saved a nice chunk of money in savings accounts and retirement accounts and minded their own business. The USA healthcare system took all of their savings and retirement and forced them to refinance their house so that they lost 15 years of equity. Is this a country we are supposed to be proud of? I hate this system and anyone that defends it.

Caffeine isn’t the problem, bad timing is. Drinking it as soon as you wake up isn't ideal, but it’s not what’s wrecking your stress. The real issue is caffeine creeping into your afternoon and night. Cut it off by 12-2pm and control the total amount.

Everywhere I go, I hear the same thing: Texans are worse off after 12 years of Abbott. Working families are struggling now more than ever. It's time to elect a governor who will put money back in your pocket, not take it to enrich their donors. eenews.net/articles/spira…
