When I started with Accenture (then Andersen Consulting), we were told not to bring our lunch. We were expected to go out to restaurants, preferably better than fast food ones. We were supposed to act the part of high priced consultants.

We don’t talk enough about how Bush’s plan to privatize Social Security in 2005 would have saved federal finances for decades to come and we’d probably have a lot less intergenerational conflict with the Boomers.

A certain kind of person in towns like mine would like nothing more than to lock the door behind them and turn off the vacancy sign. They do not want a thriving rural community. They want a postcard perfect place to die. No traffic, no noise, no kids. We must ignore their wishes.

@QuiteANumber He's a former lobbyist of significance, who therefore has an excellent understanding of the legislative process and DC political environment. He now writes about UAPs out of personal interest as an independent journalist. Agree or disagree with his takes, he's a serious person.

Mr Dean Johnson explaining his relation with the ufo topic. Despite this effort, for someone like me who follows the topic he is just a name on twitter that pops up now and then. You never see him on a podcast or newsoutlet etc...who is this guy?

ADVISORY REGARDING DEFAMATORY AND POTENTIALLY DEFAMATORY STATEMENTS BY MATT FORD AND OTHERS For the record, including any record introduced in future proceedings: A statement published by Matt Ford earlier today (May 10, 2026) on his @GoodTroubleShow X account, stating that I have engaged in “forging documents,” is false and defamatory. I have never forged any document, including but not limited to the fake Joint Chiefs of Staff document publicly released by the Department of Defense on May 8, 2026, which I publicly debunked hours after its release. Matt Ford's accusation today was fabricated, published and disseminated with reckless disregard for the truth. Moreover, with respect to Ford's separate allegation that I am "working for the deep state," I have never been employed by, or paid in any way by, any component of the federal government (including military), nor ever acted as an agent of any federal government component. Nor, to the best of my knowledge and belief, have I ever in my life been employed by or paid by any entity under contract with any component of the federal government (including military), with the possible exception of part-time work in cafeterias and shuttle-bus driving for public universities a half-century ago. For years now I have been retired. I am fully independent. I have no employer, client, funder, sponsor, platform monetization revenue, or other source of payment for my work. Nor do I receive direction from any source. On any given issue, the findings or opinions that I express--whether they are on the mark or in error--are the product of my own research and thinking, subject to no outside authority or direction. Be advised that any future public claims that I am paid by, or acting at the direction of, or as the agent of, any government entity or government contractor, will be regarded as defamatory, and will be regarded as having been published or uttered with reckless disregard for the truth. (On occasion I have given free advice and/or UFO-related research findings or research assistance to people of all sorts, including employees of different branches of government, sometimes in response to specific requests and sometimes unsolicited. Some recipients have expressed appreciation and some have disregarded. I will continue to offer free advice whenever I choose, and the recipients will continue to accord it whatever weight they think it deserves.) While I have worked professionally in the past on behalf of non-profit, non-governmental organizations, in different capacities including as a "lobbyist" as defined in federal law, none of that work had any direct or indirect relationship to subjects such as UFOs, UAP, mystery drones, the intelligence community, weapons systems, purported secret government technology programs, paranormal phenomena, or anything remotely similar. Some of those subjects I have intermittently studied privately, based on personal interests, going back many years, as I have related in some detail in articles and posts in the past. Another thing: In federal law, "lobbyist" is a legally defined term with serious legal implications. Under the Lobbying Disclosure Act (2 U.S.C. §§ 1601–1614), for a person to act as a "lobbyist" without the required registration and periodic filing of detailed reports (publicly available) is a felony if done knowingly and corruptly (and it could hardly be done unknowingly by a former registrant such as myself). Under 2 U.S.C. § 1606(b) and 18 U.S.C. § 3571(b)(3), this offense is punishable by up to 5 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $250,000 or both. Since professional retirement, I am not registered as a lobbyist. Therefore, any public statement that I am currently a "lobbyist" will be regarded as implying concealed and therefore illegal lobbying activity, which is obviously reputationally damaging and defamatory. Moreover, any such implication would be published or uttered in reckless disregard of the truth, considering the ease of ascertaining my lack of current registration. If any reader does not understand the legal meaning of some of the phrases used above, it is best to consult an attorney before, rather than after, publishing a defamatory or potentially defamatory statement. Keep in mind that one of the legally pertinent factors is whether you had a factual basis for the statement when you published it, or just popped off with "reckless disregard for the truth" because you disliked the person the statement was about. It should go without saying that my advisory statements above do not cover expressions of opinion about my work or me personally, however wrong-headed I might sometimes consider them--for example, calling me a very bad person for critiquing statements by some popular storyteller who promotes grandiose claims that collapse under critical scrutiny; or calling me a naive fool for accepting as factual some specific statement by a disliked current or former government official, when the statement checks out; or perhaps even assigning me a place in the ranks of credulous nitwits just because I stubbornly assess some UFO events to resist prosaic explanations and reports of some types of "paranormal" phenomena to be reality-based.

@AmericanAir @AnnanMatthews I've previously had issues with American regional jets and baggage policies; the gate agents and flight attendants are trained to be incredibly strict to the point they go beyond their own rules to keep bags out of the cabin. Frustrating.

@sameas_myname @conorsen I live in Louisville but commute to Cincinnati for a corporate role. Corporate presence in LOU is very very limited; the traditional big employers have moved a lot of roles elsewhere. Most of the people with money here are either old money or small business owners. Often both.

This is a subset of the affordability debate but I think there are a fair number of youngish Americans with $200-250k household incomes who feel like that should afford a nicer lifestyle than it actually can in top 10 metros (in part because retirees still have the good houses).

@LamarMK As an EV enthusiast, this is only true if your panel is near your garage. My panel was in my basement at the far side of the house, so the installer had to do a long run of wire to add the circuit.

Many people are scared to get a Tesla because they think they need to spend $5000 or more to install a charger at home. No you don't. I charge my Tesla using a regular 240v outlet in my garage. Same outlet as a dryer. Your local electrician can install one for under $500. Your new Tesla already comes with a mobile connector that plugs right into it. If you want a Tesla Wall Connector, that's $450 and about $500 to install. Get home, plug it in, and by the time you finish making dinner it's fully charged. Charging at home can cost you under $3 a day. No more spending $60 a week on gas. The savings of driving an EV are HUGE and it starts on day one. What's stopping you from making the switch?

I’m noticing a lot of foreigners who seem to not understand why we’d risk hundreds of lives, spend millions of dollars, and sacrifice several aircraft to rescue one guy. And the reason they don’t understand is also the reason people can’t be made American by a piece of paper.

SEAN KIRKPATRICK COMMENTS ON LUNA'S LETTER TO HEGSETH, REQUESTING 46 UAP VIDEO FILES I was the first to post on X the March 31, 2026 letter from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, requesting 46 named UAP-related video files. On the same day (April 1), I sent the Luna letter to former AARO Director Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, with several pertinent questions. Kirkpatrick's complete and verbatim response appears below. Reading Kirkpatrick's reply, some objections spring to my mind. One inspiration for my objections is a statement by the current AARO Director, Dr. Jon Kosloski: "But there are interesting cases that I, with my physics and engineering background and time in the IC, I do not understand. And I don't know anybody else who understands them either." (Pentagon Media Roundtable, Nov. 14, 2024) Yet in the 16 months since Kosloski made that comment, AARO has not released any video with an accompanying statement approximating, "Our analysts have done their best and we have come up with no likely explanation for this one; what do you think?" Is AARO's official policy to be understood as allowing release ONLY when a "likely explanation" has been formulated? I may return to this point when I have more time to flesh it out. I am again attaching images of the complete Luna letter to Hegseth, so that everyone has readily accessible the Luna request on which Kirkpatrick comments below. ***** Sean Kirkpatrick, Ph.D. (2022-2023 AARO director), April 2, 2026, emailed responses to questions from independent journalist Douglas Dean Johnson (@ddeanjohnson) regarding a March 31, 2026 letter from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, requesting 46 UAP-related video files. Kirkpatrick: If the videos were in the hands of AARO prior to my retirement, then yes I would have seen them. What needs to be noted however, is that Luna tends to get her information from less than reliable sources, often pointing to things that either don’t exist or were never reported. If they weren’t reported in official channels then they usually only exist in social media, which as discussed on many occasions, is not a source from which AARO would be conducting analysis. Furthermore, Luna’s statement that she has “found responses from AARO, when questioned about UAP sightings and provided data, less than adequate,” stems from her bias and wholly uninformed and uneducated understanding of the scientific explanations and rational analysis behind each case. She doesn’t like the answers because it doesn’t conform to her conspiratory and imaginary theories and allegations. In answer to your other questions, these are important. First, releasing any raw video without performing the statutory requirement for analysis does not serve the public interest. It will only serve to further speculation, rumor, and pseudoscientific misinformation. The statutory requirement is to gather the cases, analyze the data, and declassify each with its likely explanation. This will not only address the need for transparency but also serves to help educate the ignorance and pseudoscience, combating the misinformation that pervades this area. This process takes time to do it right, something Luna her co-conspirators neither understand nor want. The Department has been complying with this law since the establishment of AARO. Secondarily, once each case is put through the process and analyzed, it should be declassified and released to the public according to the processes and procedures I established early on, published on AARO’s website. For example, every case with a cigar shape in an infrared camera is an artifact of the camera’s response function and thermal blooming as we demonstrated in the NOVA special some years ago. Putting that out in the public should have educated the public and Congress on why those types of objects are seen. Clearly, Luna didn’t pay attention and continues to listen to her “credible sources” in contradiction to fact. [end of Kirkpatrick response]
