Why do we even need the justice system when we have the judge, jury and executioners right here on twitter 😊 “Be the change you wish to see in the world” - MG.

1. Will there ever be the “right” time to call for reform in the SC and structuring of CJ’s discretionary powers? Iftikhar Chaudhry’s tenure wasn’t the right time as we were told the judiciary had just won independence and it was for the greater good to ignore his overreach

1. The government+military has had to resort to extreme totalitarianism to ensure their power is not questioned. 2. They have to protect their power like this because it is on weak grounds, i.e. two provinces have an unelected govt, the Fed govt hangs by a thread. 3. They understand that they are unpopular, hence the use of drastic measures. 4. Same unpopularity means they cannot go into next elections. They fear they will lose. 5. One way out of this, they think, is to delay elections indefinitely till their unpopularity is fixed. 6. Till then, stamp out any criticism of govt by force so that the popularity repair project goes unhindered. 7. This, from point 1-6, if you notice, is a cycle that perpetuates itself. 8. To add to this, economy keeps getting worse, which means the govt is getting upopular faster than they+handlers can fix it. 9. The govt+mly thinks as soon as IMF money starts rolling in, they can take care of point 8. 10. This assumption will prove to be false too, because of the delays and economic mismanagement, they will have to seek another IMF bailout soon after. 11. That means that an unpopular govt will make more and more unpopular decisions to be in the IMF programs, if it doesnt, economy will go down further. 12. Hence, the govt will get more and more unpopular no matter what it does. 13. That means the govt will have to resort to even more fascism, have to turn the country into a complete totalitarian state. Is that desirable? 14. However, if the IMF program is done under a popular govt with people's mandate, the equation changes. 15. A popular govt can take unpopular decisions without resorting to fascism. It can break the above cycle. 16. This cycle is completely unsustainable and counterproductive. It is also unnecessary. Pakistan cannot be a completely totalitarian state. Egypt model cannot work because Pakistan isnt Egypt. 17. The only reason a truly popular party is being disallowed from forming a govt is that one man fears for his job. 18. One man. The whole dam can break if just one stick is removed. 19. Sooner or later, either the dam must break or the country.

‘Either Imran Khan exists or we do’ What on earth is this, from the Pakistani interior minister? This is the kind of demonizing/dehumanizing rhetoric that precedes civil war; that can lead to repression and genocide. It needs to be condemned globally. aljazeera.com/news/2023/3/27…

#Pakistan Interior Minister's statement that "either Imran Khan exists or we do" is shocking and should be rejected by all God fearing and law abiding Pakistanis. It is an incitement to violence against a major political leader. The Prime Minister must publicly disassociate himself from his minister's comments. This mindset is a big reason for Pakistan's dysfunctionality. If that does not change, the country will continue to be mired in crisis.
