Tenma Maemi would be the best wife from phase connect. No one else in that company would push you harder to become a better person.

@LostAGunDebate @alexthechick To clarify, I'm sure european houses are fine at defending against common european tornados. But that doesn't mean they'd be useful in American areas prone to tornados.

Holy hell that person thinks that would survive a tornado. Oh no oh dear.

@HMBohemond Here's the thicness of a wall in my European house, cat for scale. Of course it would survive.

@LostAGunDebate @alexthechick Sure, you can do that. But you'd have to either specifically design the basement for it or dig out a sub basement. Also wouldn't protect the house itself, which was the entire idea; the house will still suffer massive damage from any decent tornado.

@LostAGunDebate @alexthechick Not really? An open roof in any decently strong tornado is just a slightly different way of dying. If I were to decide to live in such an area, a storm shelter would be a massive priority. Even a hole in the ground with a reinforced lid would be fine.

I think its really funny that Sinitar published a modding 'guide' five years ago, got called out for it within a few months, and still hasn't fixed any of the actual issues. Its just a shame that he comes up first in a search, because his guide is absolute dogshit.

@Deeva_Online That's because you're not doing anything to lower the temperature inside. When my family used to only run electricity for a couple hours a day, we would start it up right when it started getting hot, cool the entire trailer down, and it would stay cold through the heat.

@dvb_eck Then get a floor unit and pipe it out. Or a swamp cooler and a dehumidifier.

@supposedlyr0sie And to follow that up; the ones who are complaining about guns are trying to do something about it. I may disagree with them entirely, but they consider it a problem and try to fix it. Brits aren't even doing that.

@supposedlyr0sie Brits have an easy solution available for individuals. Even if 99% of brits dislike AC as a concept, you personally can get one to keep yourself from dying in the heat. I can't go out and spend a modest sum of money to ensure I'm never shot.

the irony of americans getting annoyed at british people dying in the heat because we ‘refuse’ to do anything about it, i wonder what the us equivalent is….. what keeps killing people but your country refuses to do anything about it???? the detachment
Negative@NegativeSymptom

Americans arent annoyed at the fact yall dont have ac, Americans are annoyed at yall complaining & dying over a situation that happens every single year that u have the solution for yet ur country refuses to do to the most ass backwards reasons Its not the ac, its the complaining

@FanSweetfo92379 @DFWStormChasing @paledoptera Yeah but they're also constantly complaining about the buy price of an AC and the electricity to run it. Apparently even though they're getting hospitalized and dying at over a thousand a year, that's too expensive. Guess that sub-Mississippi economy hurts.

@TheFarRightSide I don't want to say that, I do think an asylum is the correct option, but even if we got them back I know they'd just be let out again eventually. Ironically, liberal policies have pushed me more towards the death penalty being the only practical option.

So I have wayyy too many carrots at the moment. Other than carrot cake what can I do with them? Or should I just give them to my chickens instead?

@BTweeter87 To be fair if we're putting this in America (OP is from Spain) then there's a decent chance you or one of your buddies knows how to manufacture ammo and produce blackpowder. Not a 100%, but I work with four guys who can do that and I'd bet on them surviving.

@DFWStormChasing @paledoptera Oh, to clarify, I mean that to run a typical AC per hour that's what it costs. Its less than that for the kwh, but the UK is usually too humid for swamp coolers to be a good idea so I went with a proper AC which is more expensive to run.

@Egdirb13 @DFWStormChasing @paledoptera I didn't say grandma should buy her own unit, I said they should buy a unit for grandma. The UK minimum wage is 12.71, a unit costs ~200 to buy and ~1 per hour to use. You can afford to make some sacrifices to scrape together a present for grandma.

@notforyou74656 This is correct. Inadvertently, you’ve made the point why the UK doesn’t have AC. Frequent heatwaves like this are a very new phenomenon in the UK. Historically, AC was only worth while 2-3 days every other year, if that

We don't think you are. Louisiana averages about 300 hospitalizations & about 3000 emergency room visits due to heat EVERY SUMMER. People die EVERY SUMMER. The reason the number is not larger is air conditioning - so we're providing you the solution we know actually saves lives.
