@_nd13 I think part of the reason they don't is because a number of shows, even those that are closing, go on to tour the U.S. A live stream could help boost sales, but could also lead to potential audiences saying, "Why see the tour when I saw it at home?"

I understand why they’re live streaming one of the final #goodnightandgoodluck shows tonight But I wish Broadway did this for big shows when they’re about to close - mainly for those who don’t live in NYC and/or can’t get to the show in person. Even if it was like $1 to watch

@st4rb1u3 As I recall, Lilo gains a non-Native friend in the series, Victoria, who actually does appreciate the hula classes and Lilo's weirdness. So I don't know that Mertle is meant to "represent" all non-Native residents, as much as she's an example of a particular kind.

No cause this is LITERALLY the point of Mertyle's character in Lilo and Stitch. She's a representation of non-Native inhabitants of the island and their clash with Natives/Native culture. You can put a white girl in a hula skirt, but that doesn't mean she'll appreciate it.

FanFiction.Net is serving millions of active readers/authors world-wide and a fictional site hosting stories and poetry. We have a very strict policy on sexual content and sexual content related to child abuse. On July 12th, @GoDaddy deactivated dns-resolution for our domain due to a dozen links of fictional content they deemed broke their "ChildAbuse" policy. Godaddy sent the dozen links to us on July 9th. Our human staff between July 10th 6PM-10PM PST time validated every link and removed the content that broke our policies regarding sexual abuse content. The list even contained a link that contained no sexual abuse of any kind. That why we human verify every abuse report. We officially replied to Godaddy on July 12th even though content was removed on July 10th. Yet on July 12th, our FanFiction.Net domain was disconnected from the dns eco-system, with zero notification/communication, causing 100% operational disconnection including email, website, app login, etc. Our staff called in to Godaddy on July 12th and was assured 24 hour reply. It has been more than 24 hours and we are still getting no response. @Godaddy, please expediate the review process so we can get dns back again. Again, we received zero communication on the dns deactivation and our communication is limited to childabuse@godaddy.com email which we have replied to on July 12th, and July 13th via multiple emails. To our users, please be patient as we work hard to get this resolved but as detailed above, this is entirely out of our control at the moment. If you personally know anyone at @Godaddy, please help us and let them know to expediate this matter and establish bi-directional contact with us. @GoDaddy @GoDaddyHelp @GoDaddyPro

@ickyrobot @wychstreet In a way it's going back to how theater began, though. Before the 50s, a lot of musicals were just revues, and before the 60s, many musical theater songs became American standards outside of their shows. We need a better balance of all kinds of shows.

@wychstreet Also the "necessity" for songs to be able to go viral/work out of context of the show - songs started to sound more like pop songs instead of written in service of a plot (I'm thinking specifically "Waving Through a Window"/anything from Greatest Showman as inciting incidents)

Almost total disregard for a strong book - so many new musicals feel like songwriters who came in with songs in hand rather than ones who want/know how to work with plays and playwrights. For how much Sondheim is worshipped his treatment/knowledge of writers is generally ignored

@beaujes I'd say another big difference is Liliana is a #badparent who abandoned one of the main characters. I think a lot of viewers take that personally. But there have also been bad parents on this show who were redeemed, or at least not totally cast aside, so...

this is a million times more accurate now btw. liliana and essek were both young people sought out and exploited by ludinus, but liliana was infinitely more vulnerable because she had none of the societal connections or knowledge essek did. #CriticalRoleSpoilers
