Dupadu Betamcherla Railway line is a very cost effective way to connect Kurnool with East Coast by Rail. Govt of India and AP should take up this project asap.

The Ministry of Railways on Thursday issued a fresh directive revising the jurisdiction of the proposed South Coast Railway (SCoR) zone, thereby bringing a key rail section in Odisha under its ambit. According to an official communication from the Railway Board dated April 2, 2026, the Palasa-Ichapuram section, currently under the Khurda Road division of East Coast Railway (ECoR), will now be included in the proposed Visakhapatnam division of the SCoR zone.
Lazy and lame proposal. Why would someone from Guntakal who wants to go Vijayawada/Vizag encircles Kadapa & Tirupati? Introduce: Ballari-Vizag Tirupati-Kadapa-Nandyala-Vizag Link Kurnool-Nandyala and run Kacheguda-Kurnool-Nandyala-Kadapa-Tirupati/Chennai.
Our Tirumala express now getting extended to Guntakal. Long route but proposal approved. Now it will be Visakhapatnam - Guntakal Tirumala express Via vijayawada, Tirupati, Kadapa to Guntakal. Vizag needs a sitting VB to Tirupati. Also a daily train. @sribharatm @eswarkanchu
Amaravati Railway Project Update: • 57 km new line including a 3 km Krishna River bridge (Errupalem-Namburu). • 2245 crore budget to establish a railway ring for the capital. • Connectivity: Direct access to Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai • Port Access: Connecting to Machilipatnam, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, and Visakhapatnam. • Status: Land acquisition/pooling underway in AP and TG; Railway line aligns with IRR Phase 1 and land pooling targeted for completion in 5 months. Total completion by 2029.
Rayalaseema has only 7 pitlines Tirupati- 5 Guntakal- 2 Costa has 16 pitlines + 3 under construction Kurnool needs pitlines to start trains from the city. 2 pitlines should be built in KRNT/CMLR workshop immediately while doubling is underway. @SCRailwayIndia @ByreddyShabari
