It’s hard to find reliable salary data for remote roles. Here’s why. Thread 🧵

I will immediately switch our entire company to any EOR other than @deel who can deal with the entire move, such that I never have to speak to another deel employee again. DM me.

@dbdoughty_ @remote Sorry to hear about this @dbdoughty_ ! I’d love to show you @useplane if you’d be looking for an alternative. We work with many talent networks and offshore agencies. I actually used to run one in the past :)

Strongly considering leaving @remote for Deel. I had them cancel a payment and haven’t received an update in 8 days. From what I’ve heard from others, Deel has much better service.

@MatznerJon @useplane if you want to save money on exchange rates for you and your offshore team. Plus, you can automate everything and handle compliance 🙂

What do you use to pay offshore workers? Regular bank wire transfers don't work because the costs are between $25 and $45 per transaction. Depending on the position I have used: Wise - prepay the account Upwork's anyhire Paypal

New feature: We updated our Form I-9 process. You can now upload acceptable documents, so you can easily complete the E-Verify process. We also updated skipped payroll, including adding the ability to unskip items. ➡️ Learn more on our changelog: new.plane.com

@joherkhan @Rippling You may want to look at @useplane 🙂 Designed for startups, super easy to use, no sales calls required, simple pricing, no annual contracts and way better support when you go global one day.

Yo @Rippling you seem to be the end all be all HR + Ops platform. Pretty epic. But why do you make it so hard for small startups to use you? Pretty convoluted product offering with some gotcha’s mixed in there Nevertheless, excited to try it out!

So ready to move on from @GustoHQ. Their "support" is virtually non-existent, it seems like. Anyone has recommendations for good alternates?

@maxhodak_ @useplane if you look for one that does native payroll in US (as Gusto, Rippling) and international in one platform. Optimised for startups and fast growing companies, not SMBs :)

rippling just sent us a $24k quote to access our own data, on top of $3k+ they already charged for api access, which turns out to do nothing useful gusto struggled with multiple geographic regions… any recommendations for a non terrible payroll vendor?

@AviSchiffmann I’m biased but @useplane is the good alternative :) Built just for startups, fully supports domestic and International in 150+ countries, transparent/simple pricing, easy to start, super simple UI, slack support, no annual contracts

@AviSchiffmann Dude the entire space is broken. Went from rippling to Deel to remote to gusto. No one can figure out transparent + fair pricing , rich features , simple UI. Sticking with @deel for now. Too much money on marketing , not enough on product

@coreyhainesco I’m biased, but @useplane is doing exactly this :) We’re the only platform where you can run payroll for your whole team (W2 employees in US, global contractors, global FTEs in 150+ countries) from one screen. Optimised for startups (no contracts, simple pricing, slack support)

@IleanaGonzxlez Most of the options mentioned above would make money on hidden fees (usually blended in the currency exchange markups). If you don’t like your contractors pay for that, I recommend looking at @usepilot😀 We have a strong believe that no one should pay fees to receive their salary

Has any company actually figured out international contractors payments? This process and fees⬇️ do NOT work fee 1 - what we pay to initaite a transfer fee 2 - an international payment "intermediary" fee 3 - the fee imposed by the local bank
