Exposing the hidden hand behind the protest against the Great Nicobar Project. You won’t find these EXCLUSIVE details anywhere. So let’s start the THREAD. 1. Meet Ashish Kothari. He filed a petition before the NGT against this project. But why? And who is he?

Another well researched article by @prof_nithiya. While everyone is talking about #Hormuz, Dr Nithiyanandam gives the full picture👇🏻spanning history, geography, geopolitics and more. Worth reading even for those people already familiar with it (PS: As an add on to the article, did you know about the Zoroastrian link to the name itself? Hormoz is a linguistic evolution of Ahura Mazda (Avestan) —> Ohrmazd(Middle Persian) —>Hormuz (modern usage). Interestingly, I am currently rereading ‘The Magicians of Mazda’ by Ashwin Sanghi where I first learnt of this connection). geospatialbulletin.takshashila.org.in/p/15-the-strai… @sanjeevsanyal @nitingokhale @acorn @prakashmenon51 @kumarpvr @CaptDKS @KRANTII01 @SAK02209619

China has massive economic exposure to the Middle East: China has spent over $269 billion on investments and construction contracts across the Middle East since 2005. Saudi Arabia is the largest recipient at $82 billion, followed by the UAE at $48 billion, and Iraq at $40 billion. Furthermore, Chinese investments and construction contracts in Iran have reached $25 billion. Meanwhile, Middle East trade with China has more than doubled since 2017, to $317 billion in 2024. That is nearly 4 times the $85 billion in trade with the US in 2024. China is heavily tied to the Middle East's economy.

Dear @JioCare Dont you guys believe in timely refunds of cancelled orders? Or is it that all such unrefunded money is catering to your salaries and perks? A refund order initiated on 13 Feb is yet to materialise in my account. If you dont want to refund, shamelessly say so.

An urgent phone call from Saudi Crown Prince MBS changed Trump’s decision at the last minute: President Trump had intended to declare a complete ceasefire and end the fighting against Iran in exchange for the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz. However, a tense phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman dramatically changed the plan. According to White House sources, bin Salman begged Trump not to stop the war: “This is a historic opportunity – we must finish the job and weaken the Iranian regime once and for all.” In exchange for continuing the fighting, Saudi Arabia offered an unprecedented package of economic and strategic incentives. Key points in the offer: • $100 billion transferred directly to finance American war costs • Full and immediate normalization with Israel after the fall of the regime • Direct oil pipeline from Saudi Arabia to the port of Ashdod, turning Israel into a major energy hub • Investment of approximately $1 trillion in the U.S. economy + purchase of $500 billion in American weapons • Establishment of a new regional defense alliance, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, and other moderate countries under an American umbrella • Joint naval force to control the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb • Funding of strategic U.S. bases in Israel • Joint reconstruction fund for a post-regime “secular and moderate” Iran In the end, Trump announced a temporary ceasefire, not an end to the war as was expected. Senior diplomatic sources describe the move as “a historic turning point” marking the beginning of a new regional order. - @jess_ih_ka

Below is the full statement from Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office: “People of Iran, We are waging a historic war for liberty. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to remove the Ayatollah regime and gain your freedom. Together with the United States, we are hitting the tyrants of Tehran harder than ever. The Ayatollah is no more, and I know you do not want him replaced with another tyrant. So you must act. We are creating the conditions for you to do so. We have hit countless regime targets. We have taken out thousands of IRGC operatives and hundreds of their missile launchers. We are focused on regime targets and are doing our best not to harm the people of Iran. We are your ally, your best ally. We fully respect your sovereignty, culture and heritage. You asked for help, and help has arrived. We will continue to hit with growing force the tyrants who have terrorized you for decades. The Ayatollahs and their henchmen are on the run, but those cowards have nowhere to hide. In the coming days we will create the conditions for you to grasp your destiny. Your dreams will become a reality. When the time is right, and that time is fast approaching, we will pass the torch to you. Be ready to seize the moment.”

A CS professor at a mid-tier state university just sent me their internal placement data Fall 2023: 89% of their graduates had offers by graduation. Average starting salary $94k Spring 2024: 71% placement rate. Average dropped to $78k Fall 2024: 43% placement rate. Those who got offers averaged $61k Spring 2025: 31% of graduates employed in software roles six months out This semester? 19% placement rate and falling Faculty meeting last Tuesday got heated when the department chair suggested "pivoting curriculum toward AI collaboration skills" One professor stood up and said "we're teaching students to build the systems that eliminate their own jobs" The career fair last month had 12 companies show up. Half were MLMs and insurance sales Students keep asking why they're learning data structures when the job postings all say "3+ years experience with LLM integration" Professor told me the hardest part is the parent meetings "My daughter took out $140k in loans for this degree and she's working at Starbucks" Meanwhile the university is still running ads promising "94% job placement rates in high-growth tech careers" The disconnect is crushing everyone involved Faculty knows the industry has fundamentally shifted but the marketing department is still selling the 2019 dream These kids mortgaged their futures for careers that evaporated while they were in class

@saikirankannan It is not that they are incapable of verifying fact from fiction. If they are spreading unverified and fake news, it is 100% intentional. Senior journalists cannot be such dimwits. They do it becoz it suits their agenda.

💡The amount of fake news, misinformation being propagated, posted, reshared, by veteran journalists, knowingly or unknowingly, tells you a lot about how they are unable to differentiate between what is real and what is not in this day and age of digital warfare and Pysops.

🇮🇳This marks the first known instance of a Russian LNG carrier transiting the Red Sea while openly declaring India as its destination. Typically, these tankers avoid listing any specific destination in their AIS data and ultimately deliver to China. What sets this particular carrier apart from prior ones is its sanctions status: it is sanctioned by the EU but not by the US. India has historically disregarded EU sanctions on Russian energy while complying with US ones. That said, the cargo could still ultimately be redirected to China. Map form @Kpler
