best take. there is an unspoken agreement between fed govt and big tech and if one goes too far, well you know the rest.
Finn Murphy@FinnMurphy12

lol Block/Square stock is up like 20% on laying off 40% of their headcount while growing and profitable. The Faustian bargain that big tech made with society was by creating a nuevoaristocracy of laptop-class landed gentry, their founders and shareholders were allowed to become wealthy beyond all imagination with little government intervention past slaps on the wrist. Google could cut 90% of the headcount and generate 90% of the revenue. But when this deal is broken, the displaced Baron’s will demand their own Magna Carta - tech leaders are too politically myopic to see this and so the more likely outcome is one of revolution. A rising of modern sans-culottes currently kept busy by the bread and circus’ of Doordash and TikTok but rallied to action by these displaced elites. AI may be the excuse but this has always been an option. Salesforce employs 75,000 people. Including Matthew McConnaughey on over $1,000,000.00 a year. Most of this headcount can hit the road - Covid proved many jobs are ritualistic button pressing exercises in a circular loop of keep up appearances financed by a need for elite docility. AI’s biggest disruption may be giving people the ‘excuse’ to finally break this pact. But I assure you the Maximilien Robespierre of today is not a puffed up perfumed Frenchmun. He’s a forty year old Stanford educated father of 4 who contributed to the Review about to lose his director role in Big Tech and enter the worst job market since the financial crisis. He will likely be equally as unforgiving if executives are not careful about how they carry themselves and their decisions in this coming shift.

Nobody is trying to fix the problems we have in the world. Everyone is just trying to make enough money so the problems don't apply to them anymore.

@darrenangle was playing with this today for this very reason, and imo we're mostly there. not shown below, but mini-max and mistral outperform tremendously with a harness. they'll get a lot more praise when people realize agents at scale is more than just setting up the responses api.

Nice! And I will check how to optimize it on small trees but very likely analysis just takes time before it starts traversing
LP@lanpaje

@neogoose_btw very excited to see this. i have a native zig tensor, autograd transformer triad so this is huge. this is a one-shot result with no optimizations. def worth it in repos with massive trees.

While Claude Opus was not being able to get even parity in performance with a gcc my good old human brain seems to be still capable of something. Introducing zlob.h - zig, C, and rust library that is 100% POSIX and glibc compatible and 1.2-2.5x faster than glibc. SIMD, raw syscalls, assembly and hot paths algorithmic optimizations + a WAY better and useful API as an extensions to POSIX interface And some visuals comparing rust's fd using glob crate, glibc find and zlob's purely demonstrative cli

another reason why agents in pvp finance domains are very hard: every var affecting a session is impt. if u miss one, even for 1s, someone takes ur lunch. in my exp, 50gb data per 1h session needed to make x profit with y principal. and economic model needs to be baked in.
Ashpreet Bedi@ashpreetbedi

Poor man's continuous learning: How to make agents better without fine-tuning or retraining. Over the last few months, I've been using a simple pattern that's made my agents noticeably more reliable and useful. It's also been the most fun I've had building in a while.

our product used to have a high interactivity requirement so that if you closed the app out during loan initiation, your loan request would be cancelled and you would receive back your BTC. It seems this is what happened to you. Loan initiation on Lava now is almost instant - we spent months speeding it up and solving this cryptography constraint. Apologies for the prior inconvenience. I’d love to get you back using Lava. DM me for help. Btw, we respond to all customer inquiries within 24 hours now

When you borrow against your bitcoin on Lava, you can verify in real-time that your collateral is not rehypothecated. You see this on-chain, gaining cryptographic guarantees, not just legal or reputational assurances, that your bitcoin is secure. Only possible on Lava.

@harptheflarp @MarediaShehzan @lava_xyz like i said, it's not about the bugginess. that is 100% forgivable. it's about the responsiveness of the team when it's a *new* product and the customer is trusting you with large amounts of money. up until now, weeks later, you are the only person that responded.
