🇲🇽 A Mexican gold miner trapped 300 meters underground for two weeks has been found alive Francisco Zapata Nájera, 42, was stuck around 300 meters below ground after an embankment collapsed at a gold mine. Video from the rescue shows him standing in waist-deep water, telling rescuers he never lost faith during the ordeal. The accident occurred when a tailings dam, used to store mining waste, burst on March 25. Of the 25 workers inside, 21 escaped, while four were trapped. Another miner, José Alejandro Cástulo, was rescued after five days underground. One miner died, and search efforts are ongoing for a fourth worker who remains missing.
