@SwiftKey @Microsoft What the hell is this, SwiftKey? I’ve been using SwiftKey pretty much since it came out, I even tolerated the Copilot nonsense even though it doesn’t work, but pushing a OneDrive banner right in the middle of the screen is too much. Uninstalling it now.

@mikkmartin @Cron I’m currently using @busymac BusyCal, and I used @flexibits Fantastical before. Honestly, whoever implements this first gets my money. I’d either switch or stick with them!

@carlesandres I was just looking for something like this, and I came across ghui and gh-dash. What would you say are the biggest differences?

I've just tried github.com/kitlangton/ghui and I'm joycrying 🥹. I've been managing to avoid GitHub's website for PR reviews through a combination of gh-dash, diffnav, and gh-enhance. But ghui already integrates most of what I need in a beautiful TUI.

@ibuildthecloud hum... actually... ^^' I might be one of the only, but i often check the trending repo and the "recommended for you" on github I've discovered some nuggets that way, not many, but a significant number nonetheless :)

Do you need github for project visibility? No, right? Nobody discovers projects through github.

@CryptoAgorist99 @jasonbcox0 Yeah, but many people don’t use it through the CLI. I’d say most users use the web UI first, then maybe a TUI or GUI, and only a smaller group uses the CLI.

95% of my interactions with GitLab are through the Git CLI and their new GL CLI. I almost never need to touch the web UI, which is the one that sucks hard. So not a big issue for me. Anyway, I used all the big Git hosters at some point in time, and I found that all their UI/UX sucks, so tbf I would say GitLab is average, not especially bad.

There's a lot of confused people in this thread on why GitLab isn't an acceptable drop-in replacement for Github. I will periodically add some examples. These are UX monstrosities that make it *unusable*
Josh@joshmanders

GitLab was designed by developers with no eye for design but think they do. The UX is atrocious as if they never used their own product. I'd let GitHub lose another 5-10% uptime before I'd consider switching to BitBucket before I'd consider GitLab.

@bstaples @jasonbcox0 @JonahBSterling You should consider creating a place where users can vote on UX improvements. GitLab has everything developers need, but the UX makes it hard to use daily, especially now that AI is increasing the amount of code review we do. I’d love to switch back once those issues improve.

@fortelabs I'm not surprised. It's hard to configure, and even after you get to a "decent" point, it's just matter of time until you get to some unsolvable issue (at least w/o having to create a plug-in or something)

Is it true that Obsidian only has around 1.5 million users!? Compared to 225 million for Evernote at its peak? So Obsidian has only reached 0.7% the size of the Evernote user base. It's a niche of a niche of a niche.

@Not_Prasar Nope, you have a superficial understanding of networking. As I said above the attack surface is smaller but it exists -- remotely. @grok wanna explain?

📈 The Vercel support agent is now handling ~90% of customer inquiries without human intervention. Shockingly, we've been unable to upgrade to Opus 4.6 from 4.5 without measurable performance and customer sentiment degradation. The "best model" is a moving target. Bullish on AI Gateways and open AI SDKs 😉!
Mitchell Hashimoto@mitchellh

I know this is pretty well established at this point, but Codex 5.3 is a much more effective model than Opus 4.6. I went back and forth on both for a bit, but haven’t touched Opus at all now for a full week. First model to get me off of Opus… ever. Good job Codex team.

@awjuliani Nice! It would be good to align northern hemisphere with southern hemisphere, so I can compare summer with summer, and not summer with winter.

I'm trying to figure out where to live next, and one big consideration is the climate. So naturally I made a tool that represents monthly average temperatures for cities as 3D rings so they can be compared more easily. Check it out: awjuliani.github.io/weather-explor…
