Can’t ever recall a week like this in Ireland-US relations. The Irish political class is as supportive of the Palestinian cause as the US political class is of the Israeli cause, and as this senator, and at least a dozen more US lawmakers have made clear, the two sides are on a collision course. Very dangerous moment for Ireland.
Senator Dave McCormick@SenMcCormickPA

Ireland’s proposed bill boycotting Israeli goods is ill-conceived and morally bankrupt in the face of the threats facing Israel. It will also have significant ramifications on U.S. companies operating in Ireland and damage the U.S.-Ireland relationship. Ireland should know that there will be economic and trade consequences if they proceed down this misguided path. wsj.com/opinion/bds-wi…

The Irish political class is guided by Socialist principles. The entire opposition is practically socialist including The Greens. Socialism in Ireland has taken on an Islamo-Socialist bent. FF-FG have been caught playing the opposition at the Islamo-Socialist game at home, not realising the stupidity of this position internationally.

Mary Lou being a free speech advocate refuses to let me comment on her disgusting post. As long as you pedal the myth of terrorists & hunger strikers you will divide this island! No wonder loyalists hate our tricolour. 🇮🇪 you changed it from a flag of peace to one of division.

Many people will celebrate their culture and traditions this week. Unfortunately, we have seen incidents that pose serious risks to life, property, the health of residents and vital public services, alongside openly racist displays that are sickening and deplorable. Political leadership is essential to ensure the safety of residents, patients and the wider public. It is entirely wrong, and completely unacceptable for these bonfires to take place in a way that endangers property, infrastructure, public services or lives. It’s time for leadership to be shown.

@JOMGLNMR @wmhuo168 If cash transfers to the citizenry during covid was the cause of inflation, why didn't the cash transfers to the banks, during the sovereign debt crisis, cause the same phenomenon? This round of inflation is 100% down to corporate profits.

@QED_Capital @Jiminfinitus @LMangan1 @davidmcw @JagerBoum @AMCN28 Yeah everything in America is trending upward. Even the amount of people dying from opioid overdose has dropped to 60k per year. (Overall overdoses are still at 85k) Still a long way to go to get down to EU levels(5k 😂). Unfortunately the US is still a deeply sick society

Featured in today’s Sunday Times story by @Jennifer_Bray. I’ve called for a visitor levy, a directly elected Dublin mayor, and reform of the CPO system so councils can finally act on long-term dereliction.

@2Otoole4School @RoryHearneGaffs Pokey two beds are mansions? The modesty of these"luxury"two bed apartments is the problem. The apartments were sold to residents as a way to alleviate the housing emergency, for young working families. Not well off, foreign IT workers. Working class people are from round there

€2,900 TO €3,600 FOR A TWO BED APARTMENT! Dear renters and generation stuck at home... This is your unaffordable present and future courtesy of Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael and the Lowry Independents. They want to allow rents rise further than these... Let's Raise the Roof

@jimboMcbain @RoryHearneGaffs These aren't luxury. They're 2 bedroom apartments FFS. Houses across the road in Marino are €3k a month. That's 36k a year. Who can afford that

@CafeAuLait0101 @RoryHearneGaffs Prime locations? Rent for places like that were €1,500 or less about 10 years ago? Why can't you look at market failure and see it for what it is? Fine Gael voter?

@2Otoole4School @RoryHearneGaffs How are working families supposed to afford housing at that price? We clearly have a case of market failure. Not sure why you gimps are so offended by people calling it out

@SOQ16091847 @RoryHearneGaffs Surely that type of thing only apply to apples and oranges, and not essential commodities for human survival like housing/healthcare/education? You must be absolutely stupid to apply radical Free market principles to housing. With your economic illiteracy you should join FG

@PopeSeneca @PaulCassin8 @danobrien20 @grok You don't understand that the reason Donald Trump has taken power, is because the dollar is artificially high, to maintain it's status as a consumption economy, at the expense of its productive capacity. You're describing an exchange rate phenomenon. Not wealth.
