At next month’s NPC meeting, I will present a resolution on rebuilding our Federal Socialists in Office committee. DSA’s victory in Philadelphia last night only matters if we can demonstrate to our fellow workers that we are building something that can transform society. (1)

There is a new Democratic Socialist in Congress. DSA congratulates our member Chris Rabb on his election for Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District. This victory would not have been possible without the work of thousands of working class people across Philadelphia organizing for a better world. @Skepacabra @petersterne The point of the article is that the front group isn't doing its job (mobilizing zohran volunteers and the base that won't join DSA) because active zohran volunteers are just joining DSA. This is good news.

@the92ndone @KTownSocialist @Weekly_Worker I find it hard to believe there are no tendencies or factions within the RCI. Regardless, Lenin wrote this in 1907. The factions developed in 1903, and the split was finalized in 1912. The existence of tendencies and factions does not preclude unity around a common program!

Lenin says that *if there are* differing tendencies, there must be a clear struggle between them. The Bolsheviks and Mensheviks split.

Absolutely - a real socialist party would (have to) allow differences of opinion to be debated in public, in front of the working class, with the right to form factions and tendencies. Otherwise you are building a sect.

Ok, so since the RCI is so large an organization, why can't we see open debates on political issues being printed in their paper, the different opinions, minority factions propagating their views before the time for a decisive action?

@KTownSocialist @Weekly_Worker Exactly as Lenin says. There can be no revolutionary party without an agreed on unifying party program. The goal is party unity. Splits are not to be rejoiced, but are necessary when unity between two currents cannot be made

@Nishra47247 @insorgefaizan It's hard to say because demcent is a term with a lot of different meanings depending on who you ask. The organization and chapters follow through with decisions made democratically, and respect higher bodies like the national convention, if that's what you are asking.

i think organizations caping for a regime that killed 30 thousand innocent people is far more embarrassing, but being a little mean on the internet is apparently far worse according to some in DSA. glad they have their priorities straight and moral values in order!
