Update on Yolanda — and a Request for Support Yolanda has now completed 2 of 4 induction treatments in her current immunotherapy protocol. This phase consists of a combination of: • Opdivo (nivolumab) followed by • Yervoy (ipilimumab) administered every 3 weeks. She has two more treatments remaining before transitioning to the maintenance phase, which will be Opdivo alone, given once every 4 weeks. There has been some progress. Yolanda has successfully reduced her Prednisone from 40 mg/day down to 10 mg/day—the highest dose allowed while still continuing immunotherapy. That said, we also received difficult news. Her most recent Signatera test showed a significant increase, which was a gut punch for us. Her CEA tumor marker also rose slightly to 4.27. While this was alarming, her oncologist is not overly concerned at this stage and has advised us to wait for the next round of imaging before drawing conclusions. Navigating multiple medical opinions has been challenging. While we consult with several physicians, we are fortunate to have a highly respected lead oncologist guiding her care—someone many cancer specialists would trust with their own treatment. On a more personal note, we had a meaningful win: Yolanda made it to our grandson’s 2nd birthday party. That moment meant everything. Her strength, resilience, and determination to be present for her family are extraordinary. In addition to her core treatment, Yolanda is undergoing high-dose Vitamin C infusions: • 122 grams per session (1.5 g/kg) • 3 times per week • Cost: approximately $900 per week out-of- pocket Combined with the Prednisone and immunotherapy, she is tolerating treatment better than before, and side effects are currently manageable. The Post has contacted Rana's father, who is, in fact, alive. His father says he doesn't know anything about the allegations his son previously made. "I don’t know anything about it. He didn’t talk with us or anything… He’s my son. He’s a good guy," he told the New York Post.
