Mainstream political parties now have a choice: stop antagonising their own electorates with divisive and counter productive transport schemes (I.e. LTNs, traffic filters), or double down and lose power to new parties. For the sake of your own survival, moderate your behaviour.

If Bridget Phillipson really is due to be reshuffled, it will be as a direct consequence of bringing forward the completely unnecessary, unwanted schools bill that is designed to reverse the successful education reforms that, until 10 minutes ago, enjoyed cross-party support.

When consultating on the traffic filters proposals, Oxfordshire County Council refused to allow residents to clearly state whether their support, opposition etc. So now residents have (again) taken matters into their own hands, by doing their own poll. oxfordmail.co.uk/news/25038991.…

I've been informed by DEFRA that 27 million animals (2.6% of all processed) in 2024 were slaughtered for halal meat without being stunned. It's an unnecessarily cruel and horrifically painful way for an animal to die. As a farmer, I very much believe that it should be banned.

@ReconnectingOx The only solution to cleaner air and safer routes, which the community wanted, is fewer cars/vans/lorries and more walking/cycling, which will allow buses to move, now they have it and some poetic justice.

And here's a creepy traffic filter ANPR camera being installed this week, in a scheme justified by reference to your ideas. You may think vehicle restrictions aren't a big part of your idea - but that's how it's being taken foward by councils. Your idea has been corrupted.
