You can make it "cringe" to understand economics, but that doesn't change the results. Economists aren't just drawing random lines on a blackboard. If someone adds £12 per hour to a company's revenue, and you make it illegal to employ them for less than £12.71 - it won't happen.

@gokulns You could also move to Switzerland which is more similar in lifestyle than a move to the US would be, but which doesn't have some of the Germany issues like the taxes.

This is a pretty fair argument TBH. But as a family, I like living in Germany. That's what's stopping me from a US move. That and the nuts of a visa situation

Raising the minimum wage means some people who would previously be hired no longer will be. It is also true that the majority of people add more value than minimum wage.

@K_Niemietz Don’t do this is it possible shit. Of course there are bad employees. But the point of hiring any employee is to have them earn more money for the business than they are paid. So yes, employees by and large always add far more worth to their business than they are paid for.
