My brother is homeless. Addiction. Mental illness. Streets for five years. I tried everything. He won’t accept help. Last winter he called. First time in months. Said “I’m cold. So cold.” I drove around. Found him. Under a bridge. Freezing. Brought him home. Hot shower. Clean clothes. Food. Bed. He stayed one night. Left before sunrise. Back to the streets. I cried. Felt like I failed. Week later. Man came to my door. Homeless. Said “Your brother sent me. Said you help people. I’m cold.”

Folks, this is bonkers: Hydro-Quebec, the Canadian utility, is simultaneously buying electricity from upstate NY and then delivering it (seemingly at a profit) to NYC—on a state-subsidized transmission line.

Lee Zeldin is proof that the best, most capable people on the right are often sidelined because they aren’t otherwise flashy enough or don’t grease the right palms. But the dude can cook. And he deserves more than noon committee hearings. He should have been RNC head.
Lee Zeldin@epaleezeldin

Nothing infuriates an uninformed Congressional Dem more than when they realize they voluntarily triggered a debate with someone who actually knows what they are talking about, reads federal statute and adheres to Supreme Court precedent. Today’s self-implosion by @rosadelauro was quite remarkable to witness. Without apology or regret, I will always adhere to the best available reading of federal statute pursuant to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Loper Bright.

We all deal with trauma in different ways. I’m trying to maintain my normal routine, with humor, exercise, gardening and knitting as key components. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by such events, hard to comprehend the evil in this world sometimes. Some flowers this morning:

I hate to say it… But I’m struggling to be generous after all the fraud we’ve seen. There’s so few charities I trust now. I do a deep dive on a homeless charity… oh look, my tax dollars are funding that and it’s run by a Trump-hating Leftist. A Christian charity? Oh look, they’re helping illegal aliens. An education nonprofit? Oh look, it’s getting money from Left-wing political groups to send in Democrat activists to give lectures on LGBTQ oppression. Even my TAX DOLLARS I know are being used to fund some BS non-profit that probably has me on a list somewhere as an extremist and is actively trying to cancel me. It’s hard to be generous when I’m already being generously stolen from in taxes and when even the nonprofits aren’t actually solving the problems they reportedly exist to solve.

Muslim men hate women, particularly white women. I just accidentally bumped into a Muslim man at the farmer's market and he looked like he wanted to spit on me. His face was full of anger as the apology died on my lips. The hate is real. I don't want to live anywhere near them

🚨COCKPIT AUDIO JUST DROPPED United 2092 thought they had a BOMB on board today. Pilot: ‘We got an issue up here … We’re getting a sequential beeping … We’re going to have to start treating this as a potential bomb. One beep per second from a mystery item. They declared emergency, diverted straight to Pittsburgh, and passengers ended up sliding down the emergency chutes. No device found (thank God), but damn … listen to how calm they stayed while basically saying “this could blow.” Take a listen👇🏻

I will always pray for the Pope. With every rosary. But please understand that his words and actions are keeping people, including at least one lapsed Catholic, my son, a veteran, from returning to the faith. You simply cannot expect people who saw the absolute brutality of the Islamists while serving during a war, to flock back to the Church when the Pope is kicking them in the teeth with his words and actions. I pray every day for my son to return. There are other reasons why he does not. But the above plays a part in why he stays away. Younger Catholics and Catholics who hate Trump, yet insist they want lapsed Catholics to return, ought to take this into account. Hateful and accusatory words, from anyone, do not make people see your POV. I doubt most people will see this, but I refuse to argue with other Catholics, and I refuse to just walk away from them either. This military angle NEEDS to be considered. The Pope wants peace, yet is causing horrible conflict of the soul for me, right this very minute with his words and actions. I sacrificed and so did my son, so that people can speak out. Please take that into account. I miss JPII. 😪😪😪

I am a Catholic. I am very open-minded about Leo. I do hope that he will start straightening a lot of the disasters that were done to the church by his processor and in general the Catholic structure since Vatican two. But to think that we will die on the hill of defending his personal opinions on geopolitics is deluded.

Setting aside whether her childhood accident was an unconscious act for the moment, her astonishing theory that most of the rapists, murderers, and child molesters in prison acted “accidentally” is mind-boggling. More importantly it is a powerful lesson about the liberal mind. We can now be assured that this opportunistic little piece of work, like so many of her ilk, will invariably weep for the criminal, but consider his victims, if she indeed considers them at all, as collateral damage. One thing is clear: she’s an even more dreadful monster than her vile, dangerous, deranged husband.
MAZE@mazemoore

Gavin Newsom's wife recalls telling prisoners at San Quentin about running over and killing her sister with a golf cart. She said that she wasn't punished because it was an accident but that the prisoners are doing life even though theirs was "probably an accident too."
