@HedgehogOptions Think he would have been if they hadn't made the choice to make the bottom 6 all defensively responsible. I think he makes it as the extra forward and may even challenge for 3LW/C if Cowan has a bad camp and preseason.

One thing that makes me sad about this offseason Chayka didnt leave any spots for Marlies to try and grab They win a calder and the reward no spot to try out for next season Feels bad Tverberg, Quillan, Haymes, etc all could have been 4RW easily next season

@BenGordon92 Lol you're not wrong. All we as Leafs fans can hope for is he rebounds from last year and AA takes in everything from him at training camp and when he inevitably is backing him up at some point this season.

The funny thing with the hate on #LeafsForever for the Bobrovsky contract is there is literally no scenario where the same media and fans don't hate on them. -Keep Woll & Stolarz: what are you doing? They can't stay healthy and were not good last year! -Keep one and Hildeby:

@BobBark11503563 Brazeau played 22 games in our system over 2 years. Was utilized at the AHL level acordingly in Providence and found NHL success because of it. Marchment being dealt was a horrible move by Dubas. He's on record saying he regrets it. Steeves is far from thriving lol.

@BringBackBabs Lol what? That Stolarz contract is an anchor and would have cost too much to move it. We got faster and better defensively in the bottom 6. Lots of time left in the offseason to unload Rielly and improve in other areas as well. Couple of overpays on AAV, otherwise tidy work tbh.

Chayka sure likes to make trades. This is dangerous. He’s trading way too many good players who have value and keeping shitty ones who have no value. Stolarz was the goalie that should have been traded. And Rielly a player who should be gone. Trigger-happy fool.

@EvTBlackhawks @ProducerDrew_ That has yet to be seen. Byram has been sheltered from top line minutes on both the Avs and the Sabres. Hope it works out for Chicago, but they gave up way too much.

@ProducerDrew_ We have picked I think 13 first round pick since 2022. We don’t need any more first round picks we needed a guy to run the power-play to be our best defenceman Chase Reid wasn’t gonna do that next year or the year after maybe three seasons from now, but Byram is that today

@EverydaySens If Stutzle can return to a "more controlled 24/25 playoff" Stutzle then i think Eklund is going to only benefit and the Sens could do some damage still in the east. Clear headed Ulmark; defense healthy; a team with something to prove. 🤷🏻‍♂️🏒

Notes on Eklund: - 23; signed for 3 more years at just $5.6M before RFA. - Played mostly with Wennberg (612 TOI), not Celebrini (252 TOI). - B2B >50 point seasons at ages 22/23. Over 30 5v5 points in both. 33 5v5 points would’ve ranked 3rd on OTT last season. - Logged >18:30 ATOI in each of his 3 seasons. - 23.18 ixG last season; 21.97 the year prior. SJ fans say he’s been unlucky. Hope the finishing comes. Creates a ton. - 72 hits/24 penalties drawn last season. - Known as a big character guy. Loved by teammates/fans. Also known to chirp on the ice. #GoSensGo

@wolfeynhlutah GMs just need to play hardball. Not happy, cool waive it entirely so we can explore best return for out team. Don't want to do that, cool sit in the press box and let the narrative spin itself that they turned their back on their teammates.

Should the NHL “No Move Clause” become void as soon as a player requests a trade?

@_mrdoge_ @OilyBigDog @frank_seravalli Would have loved to have seen them take the C from him and just healthy scratched him until he waived it entirely. They got a good return as long as the picks pan out or get moved to keep them competitive; but the guys in that room deserved better from their "captain"

@OilyBigDog @frank_seravalli They obviously had the choice to enforce the contract, and he could have played another 2 years there before walking and Ottawa gets nothing. Not to mention, that would put a cloud of doubt over the locker room when your captain clearly wants out

@jpolly22 No, GMs just need to start holding their ground on things. You're under contract; play or sit in the press box or at home until that contract is up, or open up your NMC so we get the best possible return. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@andystrickland He got utilized how he did in Tampa because Hedman went down. The Leafs do not have a Hedman like player on the blueline. He's going to be utilized the same here. No he won't have Kuch dishing him the puck, but we still have guys who can put it in the wheelhouse for him.

How risky is the Darren Raddysh contract? Careered it at 29/30 and gets an 8 year deal. Curious how we see this contract 2-3 years from now. Someone was going to pay him but is it realistic to expect him to produce at the same rate moving forward? What level of production will satisfy Leafs fans to live with this deal?

@EmptyNettersPod We needed a puck moving dman with a shot from the point (something we haven't had in a while) and we got it. Money and term is high and could age like milk; but he's gonna be utilized similar to how he was in Tampa, so we can only hope some of it is replicated despite no Kuch.

@OverDrive1050 @jonassiegel Because AA and Hildeby have earned looks at the NHL level after this Marlies playoff run; and that Stolarz contract isn't an easy move. Great trade that gave us some cap space, a pick, and a young offensive sman who could maybe pan out. Ersson likely no get QO and will hit FA.

@TripleCrownLAK Definitely some questionable decisions with regards to player playing time. But lets not forget that that team has faced numerous injuries to some key guys down the stretch. We'll see how things are going for him and the Leafs after a few months of games.

There is no point in arguing with delusional Leafs fans who never even stayed up late enough to even watch a Kings game under Hiller. Going to be funny watching them all realize how bad of a coach Hiller is.

@Papa_P38 @DrakeMT To be fair as well though the Kings have also not gotten younger and have been dealt shitty hands in terms of injuries, especially this past season. As a Leafs fan I'll pass judgment once the season has started.

@Jay_D_Rosehill We get some cap space. AA and Hildeby have looked good for the Marlies on this playoff run and both will get looks next year in the NHL. That Stolarz contract isn't getting moved. Best case he stays healthy, plays good, and Andrae hits his stride. Wish Woll the best in Philly.

@RinkRatReport Cleared $5mill in cap; got the rights to two guys, one of which could still be that offensive puck mover we have been looking for; and a pick. AA and Hildeby have played amazing on this Marlies playoff run that they deserve looks at the NHL level next year.

This is such an unbelievably horrible trade for the Leafs. Give up a starting goalie for this haul is extremely disappointing. There are plenty of teams in the league where Woll would be the clear cut starter and Philly wasn’t even one of them on my list.

TRADE: We’ve acquired defenceman Emil Andrae, goaltender Samuel Ersson and a third-round selection in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for goaltender Joseph Woll and defenceman Simon Benoit

@JoshWegman_ We cleared around $5mill in cap space; aquired the rights to two players, one of which has the potential to be the offensive puck mover we have been looking for seeing as OEL is on the backend of his career; and a pick. AA and Hildeby have shown they deserve looks in the NHL too.

Joseph Woll in 106 games over the last 3 years: .904 SV%, 33.9 goals saved above expected. Samuel Ersson in 131 games over the last 3 years: .883 SV%, -30.1 goals saved above expected. Unless Emil Andrae is the second coming of Tomas Kaberle, I don't get this for the Maple Leafs.
