My phone didn’t charge overnight. Almost dead. Doesn’t charge when I hook it up to my chord. Me (15-year IT professional): My phone’s broken. I need to get it replaced. I have to go make a warranty appointment. Wife (normal person): Idk, did you try another cable? Tried another cable. It worked. Noticed the power strip behind my nightstand was turned off. Turned it back on. My cable also works. Everything’s fine.

I am proud of the NASA team, and we will never stop elevating our game. SpaceX mission streaming is top notch. They have had a few hundred launch opportunities to dial it in. As we improve our launch cadence - I promise we will improve the streaming coverage along with it. In the interim, Artemis II is headed to the Moon.

@NASAAdmin NASA is the industry leader in many things, but I fear @SpaceX has spoiled us when it comes to the quality of launch live streaming. Time for @NASA's media production arm to level up. It's a new world! Onboard camera views and stunning tracking shots are the new normal.

@YIMBYLAND I don't mind the style, I just wish the developers would build larger units inside. The trend is shrinking floor plans, micro-condos and intrusive concrete columns.

TL;DR or can't read past the paywall. Here are some interesting points I read.
A GO train carrying 120 passengers was within seconds of derailing near Oakville earlier this year.
On Jan. 5, a westbound GO train just outside of the Oakville GO Station blew through a stop signal and crossed over to a different track at about 112 km/h when it should have only been travelling at about 24 km/h, despite the driver hitting the brakes. The 2 drivers were dismissed.
GO Transit currently doesn’t have the safety systems to stop speeding trains that can lead to derailments. These have become widespread in modern railway systems.
“The level of protection that GO Transit operates with is essentially the same as Britain’s operating system in the 1940s,” Dennis said. 😯
More transparency and accountability from Metrolinx can help spur better regulations and safety technology.
