Sunshine (2007) is a visually arresting and deeply atmospheric sci-fi film from Danny Boyle that remains one of the most underrated entries in the genre.

Watching in awe this week as the @NASAArtemis looked down at the moon, looked back at the Earth. Before last week only 24 people EVER had that experience only 5 are still alive. Over 100 Billion humans have existed on our planet and yet only 28 of them have had this experience. I can not comprehend what it must feel like. @AstroVicGlover, @astro_reid, @Astro_Christina, @Astro_Jeremy now have that gift. I hope to hear their stories. The two pillars of our planet are Science and Faith, and I think their story plays to both.

And splashdown! America is back in the business of sending astronauts to the Moon and bringing them home safely. Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy did an outstanding job. These talented astronauts inspired the world and represented their space agencies and nations as humanity’s ambassadors to the stars. This was a test mission, the first crewed flight of SLS and Orion, pushing farther into the unforgiving environment of space than ever before, and it carried real risk. They accepted that risk for all we stood to learn and for the exciting missions that follow, as we return to the lunar surface, build a Moon base, and prepare for what comes next. And they were not alone. The entire NASA workforce, our commercial and international partners, and the hopes and dreams of people all over the world were with them. The astronauts know it, and you should too. This mission would not have been possible without you. Congratulations. Artemis II, mission accomplished.

Jared Issacman was on the flight deck welcoming all the astronauts home with handshakes and hugs. He stayed on the flight deck until the last astronaut went to the med bay…. Then he also went around and thanked the pilots and recovery team. He was worried about them so much. I’m sure he is breathing a sigh of relief tonight. Jared was the perfect pick for NASA.
