Europeans (and eventually Americans) explored the entire world, mapped and charted every ocean and populated landmass, and then when they got bored in the 19th and 20th centuries decided they might as well go up to the North Pole and down to Antarctica and then up to the highest peak on Earth and down to the deepest depths of the ocean, and when all of that was done they went to space. The greatest indictment of our education system is that most kids will graduate grade school and then college without even the slightest appreciation of this absolutely remarkable story. A story totally unique to western civilization. No other people have ever been as hungry to know and understand the world, and as willing to give up everything, including their lives, in the pursuit.

Big Ben was at the tail end of his career, just like Wilson and Rogers. He never had the luxury of a hot young QB and never purposely tanked for a draft pick, yet always competitive. Here in CLE we haven’t had that type of coach (except the interim HC in 2018) for the last 26 years. The fans who were rabid for his firing should have been careful what they wished for. Hard to find a great HC especially one that can win with subpar QB play

NEW: 'Teacher of the Year' at an Alabama elementary school arrested after a horrific video of her allegedly beating her 12-year-old son with a belt was leaked by the boy's older brother.
2nd-grade teacher Nicole Staples has been charged & fired from her job.
Staples's older son, Jackson, says he was the one who leaked the footage to Cottage Hill Christian Academy, where she worked.
She was named Teacher of the Year just last May.
"I didn’t feel like, you know, she should be working at the school or even doing that to my little brothers," said 24-year-old Jackson Staples.
Jackson said his mom had "done it to me my whole life."
Staples was charged with willful abuse of a child under 18.
