@SkinnerPm What it means is that if we try to do something like Venezuela they could retaliate directly against Florida. And I doubt we have any real countermeasures to stop the drones from hitting things.

@danpfeiffer Holy cow, 300 drones! Owned by a country that has never attacked us and is infinitely weaker? Gotta take them out

@ChrisCillizza I'm an elementary school teacher. It is bad and none of the current thinking of our leadership has an effective response to this. They think their ideas work and we just need to implement them better.

@conorsen This headline caused me to sell stocks and miss out on the huge gains the market has had since then.

NO space battle (in Star Wars or elsewhere) can touch the Battle of Endor. It has it all: excellent storytelling, beautiful cinematography, and special effects that put best CGI films to shame!

@BrianSozzi Their end case of an agreement ratified by the UN will not happen in 3 weeks.

JP Morgan on oil prices/Strait of Hormuz: "A core assumption of our framework is that the accelerating pace of oil inventory depletion will ultimately force the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one way or another. Our base case envisions the Strait reopens in June—anchored on June 1 for simplicity—following a clear and credible announcement ratified and confirmed by both sides, such as a statement from the UN Security Council."

@OliverJia1014 TFA was decent, TLJ was ok, RoS was terrible. When the last movie of a trilogy can't pull the story together it diminishes the rest.

No they don’t. The average person IRL has given up on Star Wars *because* of the sequel trilogy. Even the prequels are spoken of more fondly. The minority of ST fans are online and they live in a bubble. It’s fine if you enjoyed them, but the majority of people didn’t.
jacob@jtimsuggs

More people actually like (or at the very least, enjoy) the Sequel Trilogy than people online would probably have you believe.

The cameraman in James Cameron’s The Abyss (1989) casually wipes the lens mid shot. Cinematographer later said he was surprised Cameron used that take in final cut. It was so intense that no one noticed at the time.

@trygraptor @FilmaticFury It had a stronger mood / atmosphere I think. Patrick Stewart was a better Gurney Halleck also. Otherwise, yeah the new one is definitely better.

Trea Turner: “That’s how dumb this game is. It makes no sense.” Turner said he probably took 1,000 swings over four days, including 350 on Friday. He went 0-for-6 on Friday to extend his hitless streak to 11 at-bats. So, he took ZERO swings before Saturday's game. He went 4-for-5.

@bdquinn Most regular people have no idea what actually happens. They remember headlines and vibes. Which were huge bailouts given to banks and no bankers suffering criminal consequences.

I'm so tired of this narrative. The TARP money from the banks was all paid back and the consequences of the banks failing in 2008 and 2009 would've hurt many more people much more profoundly.
The Lever@LeverNews

How did America go from Obama to Trump? Maine Senate candidate @grahamformaine tells @davidsirota it wasn’t some great mystery: Democrats bailed out banks, abandoned working people, and let corporate power keep running the party. Go and listen to the full episode over on The Lever's Youtube channel.

@ZaidJilani Is it worth try to do small reforms that may or may not have a large impact or to do nothing but call for the return of a law that will have a very tough time being passed?

DEMs spent over $65 million to win that VA redistricting referendum. A total waste of time and $$$.

@PotatoMcWhiskey I think they should have made trees where you could change to historically accurate civs. Like the Romans could choose to eventually become Byzantines, maybe have a path to become america in a certain era by being english in a previous one. Would make more sense at least.
