Would anyone be interested in a blog post walking through how to build a minimalist, passwordless magic email login flow for Ruby on Rails apps? There seems to be a lot of prior art around this but of course I wound up doing it my own way and don't know how many people would care

@mattwensing @smysore @usesummit A stock options vs RSUs calculator would be interesting in my current life. 🤓 It could likely be useful for founders considering incentive pay for employees too.

@mattwensing @smysore @usesummit I'm a numbers nerd so take this with 🧂 but seeing a percent chance that you run out of money would be more valuable than seeing "you need to save to X." Confidence bands would be 👍👍.

Sorry to Game of Thrones but Denethor eating a tomato is still the most brutal scene in the whole medieval fantasy genre

I feel more strongly than ever that background job queues should be named after their SLA (i.e. "within_1_minute"). Without making that SLA in-your-face explicit, there is no SLA and customer experience suffers.

I released v0.5.0 of the KSUID Ruby gem today! The ActiveRecord integration should be much more stable now. Next release, it will split into its own gem. github.com/michaelherold/…

The past ~3 years as co-host of @_bikeshed has been an incredible adventure, filled with laughter & self-discovery. Thank you @christoomey for being the world’s best co-host and a big thank you to everyone that listened to the show, for your kindness, and inspiration. 💛 🚲

After four years of hosting, today @SViccari and I say our farewells to @_bikeshed. A huge thanks to everyone who has listened over the years. And to Steph, I couldn't think of anyone better to have shared this adventure with. I'll miss ya, Bike Shed ❤️ bikeshed.fm/350

They both seem like they would be helpful to you but RailsEventStore is definitely the smaller lift.

The former is a database meant for building an event sourcing system. The latter is something from @arkency for building an event sourcing system using ActiveRecord as the store.

I just paired on @tuple with a colleague who is ~5k miles away and it was just as good as pairing with someone in my city. I'm so impressed right now!

@amrucker This speaks to me! It's amazing how a new environment forces you to grow and realize that you may have been *too* comfortable.
