I feel more strongly than ever that background job queues should be named after their SLA (i.e. "within_1_minute"). Without making that SLA in-your-face explicit, there is no SLA and customer experience suffers.

They both seem like they would be helpful to you but RailsEventStore is definitely the smaller lift.

The former is a database meant for building an event sourcing system. The latter is something from @arkency for building an event sourcing system using ActiveRecord as the store.
