When I started residency, I tried several ways to save articles for later reference for learning, and also to use for academic writing. I tried folders on my computer, Google Drive, and Zotero. Then I found Papers by @readcube. You can drag and drop articles and it automatically will fill in the article information (example below). It has great tools for tagging and categorizing articles to find them later, and taking notes/annotating articles. This is an unfortunate and completely avoidable situation. The plate is placed proximally but also for these fractures there are at least 2 manufacturers (and maybe more) that make a “j plate” that’s specifically designed as a lateral column plate with smaller screws distally but with more robust 4.5mm screws for the shaft. Go long, use the right plate!
