@networkrailwest @GWRHelp @nationalrailenq I commend the teams out in the harsh weather who have been clearing the Barnstaple and Okehampton line. However a long hard look at why line side vegetation is so bad on both lines, the impact on local communities and businesses is high. A significant clearance is urgent.

The Woolacombe War Memorial is dedicated to the thousands of American (and Allied) soldiers who practiced on the beaches of North Devon ahead of D-Day in WWII. The terrain, down to the lengths and breadths of the beaches, provided ideal mock-grounds for Normandy.

Mrs Myler: a mysterious MI6 spy and radio ham. She is pictured at her home in North Devon working for MI8 as a voluntary interceptor (VI). She was 1 of only 3 female VIs in WWII and sent her intercepts to Box 25 at Arkley. The only woman awarded the BEM for this intel work.

A doubling of passengers using Crediton in 3 years – 66,606 in 19/20 up to 133,176 in 22/23. It shows that a turn up and go frequency makes a difference. A result of introducing an hourly service on the Tarka Line and reopening of the Dartmoor Line with an hourly service too.

We are sorry to hear of the death of Actor Joss Ackland, Mr Ackland was a customer who we saw many times, particularly after we first opened. It was always a pleasure to see you, God Speed.

Bringing the network back to public ownership to run it for customers seems an obvious first step but why doesn't that appear to be the @UKLabour policy?

Lady Williams, former secretary to Winston Churchill, was a wonderful friend to @ChartwellNT, and I was so sad to hear that she passed away yesterday. She was always so generous with her time in sharing her memories of life there, and it was a privilege and pleasure to know her.
