@PresidentBio How are you going to promote children's right when in a pandemic you are calling them to the streets to welcome a team with a positive case of Covid-19? The @WHO must stop giving money to irresponsible leaders. Below is the evidence of incompetence

@AveryDaye You are a pathetic liar. If she wanted to run her over, her position would have been turning the wheels to the left. She was running away because an officer wanted her door open. The shooter's gun was out even before she made the turn. You are a fool!

@emileleigh2017 @KYumkella @JosephineGauld Your attack will not change @KYumkella vision and mission for Sierra Leone. What he is attracting, your APC leaders cannot because the world knows they are corrupt. Yumkella will succeed with the energy sector. Tell your APC leaders to follow his lead.

It was a pleasure to welcome HC @JosephineGauld to my office. We discussed progress on the Bo-Kenema interconnector transmission line and substations which were partly funded by FCDO.

To the Sierra Leone Police The justification given by the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) for the unlawful arrest of two law-abiding Civil Society Activists and citizens of the Republic of Sierra Leone is a prototype of the mentality of those who are questionably occupying positions of authority in Sierra Leone. Arresting citizens who did nothing wrong because you have the power to do so is brute. In the attached letter, the SLP further exposed their lack of understanding of the laws of Sierra Leone, because the call for the Commissioner of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) to produce the results of the election of 24th June 2023 is different from disputing election results. Even if they wanted to dispute election results, the election results are not available. In essence, you cannot dispute what you don’t have, so the premise for denying CONCERN Sierra Leoneans their constitutional right to PEACEFULLY protest for the results, but rather referring them to the court, is misleading. The SLP must understand that asking for the result is based on ethics and aligns with logical reasoning. It is the right of all Sierra Leoneans to know how this president was duly elected on 24th June 2023. Without the results no one can say the announcement made by the ECSL Commissioner is factual. We cannot say a democratic electioneering process took place in Sierra Leone when the body tasked with the responsibility of conducting the elections and producing the results refused to produce the results. Think about it, SLP. This action by the ECSL in refusing to produce the results contradicts international best practices and violates the Public Elections Acts of 2022. This has not happened anywhere in the world and we are determined to make sure Sierra Leone is not the first and only country where citizens voted, a winner was announced, but no one knows how the announced results came about. Recently, I saw people protesting the brutal murder of the late Sia Kamara, may Her Soul Rest In Peace. One would wonder how they got their clearance; they probably didn’t ask for a clearance. In the same vein, another group of people demonstrated over the rape of an infant. Did they get clearance from the IGP? These two sad incidents are deserving of protest until justice is served. I applaud those who participated in them. The situation at hand is also deserving of a peaceful protest, so I am urging the Sierra Leone Police to release the brave citizens of the Republic of Sierra Leone representing the Civil Society group - CONCERN Sierra Leoneans and give them their freedom and rights to a peaceful protest for the results of the June 24th, 2023 elections. Arluta Continua!!!

As calls for the Commissioner of Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) to produce the result of 24th June 2024 continue to grow, I have requested via an open letter, that Educators, including members and non-members of the Sierra Leone Teachers Union (SLTU), join us in upholding and defending the integrity of our democracy by asking the Commissioner of ECSL to produce the detailed result of 24th June 2023. See attached.

Ambassador Hunt's actions have the propensity to tarnish America's reputation as a champion of democracy by attempting to alter Sierra Leone's laws. This is particularly concerning given the outcome of the June 2023 presidential election, which yielded a clear winner: Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara. Notably, the electoral dispute was resolved through alternative means, bypassing the state-captured courts in Sierra Leone. Importantly, the verdict from this alternative resolution has been acknowledged by the United Nations and other international organizations. @SecBlinken @USEmbFreetown @Fornahib @andrewkay1989 @ChrisCoons @SenTedCruz @USAmbUN

@bhonest2yoursel @USEmbFreetown It's disheartening to see some individuals tarnish Africa's image with actions that prioritize political ideology over the rule of law. The disregard for democratic principles is concerning, particularly when parties like APC fail to utilize legal channels, such as the courts.

@1xTrend @ClaudiusFemi She is not supporting a gay marriage or accepting it into our culture. What is she saying? There are better things to talk about affecting the people. My own concern is that instead of complaining, she should bring ideas to help the government with the national challenges.

S/Leoneans are sad again today 4 extending Maada Bio’s illegitimacy to another 6 mo of extrajudicial killings. He is an incumbent dictator president who assumed power after he manipulated but lost the 2023 elections, spending over a year in power that does not belong to him. @UN

@MichaelPaulcok1 @LamranaAmadu I believe the polls are not serving their purpose, as the current problems in Sierra Leone are largely driven by politically connected diasporans or those who view politics through a tribal lens. Lamrana is being unfair in this instance.

The level of distrust between the public and politicians could be something we truly need to build on as a nation. I ran a poll on X asking if people think the Tripartite Committee Report was worthwhile or not and whether its outcome will ensure that we conduct free, fair, and transparent elections in 2028 and beyond. Of the 701 votes, 65.8% said nothing will change, and this includes politicians from the divide who have told me that they voted. Unfortunately, our politicians only want elections to be credible and, free and fair when they're in opposition and would do otherwise when they're in power to consolidate it. I have read some of the recommendations of the report and some we're just repeating the issues we've been discussing with little or no commitment to implement them. We conducted the 2023 elections with a new Public Elections Act and ended with more issues to address. So it's not just about the laws, I strongly believe that we need to be sincere and agree that our politicians need to allow institutions to operate independently. We should have people with integrity to serve in these institutions with allegiance to the State and not the President who appointed them. I recall how a certain Inspector General of Police said his loyalty is to his Boss, the President, and doesn't care what the public thinks hence the Boss is satisfied with his work. If we don't have independent state institutions that politicians will not use against their opponents, institutions that the public will trust, then we will be having the same issues after every electoral cycle. The work of those involved in the implementation of the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee is already cut out. If we miss this opportunity to fix what the two major political parties have been complaining about, posterity will judge all those who are involved and I am sure the public won't forgive you. I still have hope in Sierra Leone like many others. We aren't going anywhere, we will continue to play our role in striving to make this country a better place for everyone. Irrespective of who is in power, we will continue to hold them accountable and speak the truth they don't want to hear. #FreetownStories #TruthTellers
