He defected to the FGS under an amnesty policy that prevents his prosecution. However, those who had encouraged him to run for the KG leadership later abandoned him, placed him under arrest, and stripped him of his rights and freedoms. There are lawful ways to deal with him and others who voluntarily left AS, unless the law states otherwise.

Statehood is built on pillars that include justice and freedom. The Minister of Religious Affairs Mokhtar Roobow Ali Abu Mansoor returned to the city of Baidoa after 7 years, following his abduction where he was held captive, blindfolded, in an operation carried out jointly by Ethiopian forces and the administration of Farmaajo at the time. His soldiers, including his own brothers, were killed, and he was kept under house arrest as a prisoner for nearly 4 years. Today, he is in Baidoa, while the man who once overpowered that administration is now displaced from the city. There is a lesson in this that requires reflection, namely that those who running or hold power and lead the country today or tomorrow should remember that tomorrow also exists.

Respectfully… confusing 'blood and force' with state-building is a rookie error. If force built durable states, Somalia would be a superpower. A security policy built on blood ignores 30 years of lessons. We need statecraft, not 19th-century warlord logic.
