The decision to dismantle the US Forest Service will go down as one of the many massive blunders of this presidency. They are set to close all 10 regions offices and over 50 research labs. This agency manages 193 million acres of national forests, protects ecosystems, manages wildfires, conducts research, and more. This represents yet another step toward the destruction of our environment and shows a complete disregard for our future wellbeing.

🕯️🇺🇦 The funerals of 30-year-old Daria Sapun, her daughter Anna, who was only 2.5 years old, and 53-year-old Yana Kryzhanovska took place in Odesa.
They died as a result of a Russian strike on the city on the night of April 6.
People brought flowers, candles, and children's toys. Little Anna's coffin was literally covered with soft toys as a symbol of a destroyed childhood.

Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge Colby @USWPColby had a substantive, respectful, and professional meeting with Cardinal Pierre, the then-Papal Nuncio, and his team on January 22, 2026. During the cordial meeting, they discussed a range of topics, including issues of morality in foreign policy, the logic of the U.S. National Security Strategy, Europe, Africa, Latin America, and other topics. Cardinal Pierre expressed his appreciation for the outreach and both sides looked forward to continued open and respectful dialogue. In light of grossly false and distorted recent reporting, the Department of War repeats its statement: Recent reporting of the meeting is highly exaggerated and distorted. The meeting between Pentagon and Vatican officials was a respectful and reasonable discussion. We have nothing but the highest regard and welcome continued dialogue with the Holy See.

Look, I understand Rutte has an important but thankless job. He defused quite a few diplomatic rows with Trump and bought Europe more time for rearming. I also understand that when Putin is in Trump's ear it makes sense Rutte should be as well;

Why can't Hungary have nice roads like neighboring Slovakia and Poland?
One reason is that Victor Orban's summer palace (registered under his father's name) is over 10,000 square meters (100,000 square feet), featuring underground parking for 100 cars, underground tunnels, two swimming pools, a two-story library with an atrium, a "path for reflection", a private chapel, and a mini-zoo with exotic zebras and ostriches.
And all is maintained at public expense, after Orban registered it as a "historic site".
This is just one of Orban's several homes.
