@achillghost Every small town in Germany has at least one bar/restaurant that serves five or more types of beer. For Göttingen, some examples with >3 styles available are Duke Burger (8 draft), Nautibar (4 draft + 6 bottle), Gauss Pub (4 draft + 5 bottle) Zum Szültenbürger (5 draft)…

One conversation I am tired of having with Americans about Germany is the “the beer there must be great.” No it isn’t. There are three beers. They’re perfectly good beers, but at times the soul cries out for a fourth or even a fifth type of beer

@achillghost 1/ that is a bummer - also, insane that you're having those issues in GÖTTINGEN as a uni town - have the "kids" stopped drinking beer or is it all fraternity dudes drinking Öttinger by the gallon? Also: might get lucky @ EDEKA stores, they usually carry some craft beers.

@SeanPlunket If we arranged a deal with America to pump crude out of the seabed around NZ we would be totally self sufficient in liquid fuels. Plus the option of buying light crude on the open market provides another source product. Its called diversification of supply Sean.

At the risk of courting controversy answer me this. How (apart from its increased storage capacity) would having the Marsden point refinery operating make a blind bit of difference to our (non critical) fuel status?
