@elenoresturko Gov bi-partisan committees, been there, done that-see 2022. Decrim failed? Ask the VPD why they wouldn't intervene-can we drink in hospitals? Toxic drugs kill, NOT"safe supply". Action NOW!" by striking another committee? How 'bout listening to experts who know what to do?

Garry Clement is a former senior RCMP officer who worked in undercover drug operations. In this article, Clement describes how Canada has become a critical source of fentanyl flooding international markets, including the United States. The NDP must take this national security threat seriously instead of dismissing it as trade war rhetoric. We need action NOW! I again call on David Eby to appoint a bipartisan committee to develop a provincial fentanyl strategy and launch a public inquiry into the failure of the decriminalization pilot & the trafficking of taxpayer-funded “safe supply” drugs. thebureau.news/p/bordered-by-…

@elenoresturko @GarryBeggBC Please provide proof that it is "unseized" fentanyl is the BIG problem. Toxic street drugs are the killers- for the past 11 years. You must know how unsuccessful drug seizures have been. El Chapo is in jail-what did that do to decrease drug sales & availability? nada.

David Eby's Public Safety Minister @GarryBeggBC again absurdly cites seizure data in downplaying the national security threat caused by foreign government backed transnational crime organizations who are using BC as a hub for fentanyl production & export. Minister - it is the UNSEIZED fentanyl that is killing North Americans. While drug seizure data is important, it represents only a fraction of the total amount of fentanyl & other dangerous drugs coming into BC where it is then trafficked provincially, nationally & internationally. This is nothing new. Drug traffickers have worked by any means possible to exploit Canada's vast unguarded ports & borders to move massive quantities of drugs undetected for decades. We need action NOW to stop the drugs & jail the kingpins! ctvnews.ca/vancouver/arti…

@nationalpost Incarceration-When has that made a dent in drug production? Where is one of the biggest dealers, El Chappo? Did his containment make any difference in the production of illicit drugs? No. What will make a difference? WHEN THE ILLEGAL PRODUCTS HAVE NO MARKET.

@adamzivo @CityJournal Adam and friends of Adam, pls read through this- if more info is needed, say so. Adam, your deep disdain of reducing harm to people who use drugs & claim that there is not valid proof for a non-toxic drug supply may be creating a huge bias in your work.#evidence" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">substanceusehealth.ca/evidence-brief…

Harm reduction activists claim that “safer supply” is evidence-based, but that’s not actually true. The supporting studies here are of such low quality that they would be considered unacceptable in most healthcare settings. My latest for @CityJournal city-journal.org/article/canada…

Devastated💔 that a colleague in harm reduction passed away yesterday. Trey Helton toured me inside OPS on Hastings close to @InsiteOfficial. He introduced me to the volunteers & answered every question I had, which is a feat! T's wisdom&kindness forever in my 💜 #HeShouldBeHere

@elenoresturko Yes but Elenore, sadly we do not view your actions as helpful at all! Tell the truth! What anti-police agenda? Of the 4 pillars approach, enforcement gets 58 % of the budget while harm reduction gets 8%. Also when did "radical drug legalization" happen? We musta' missed it.

When the Coquihalla Hwy washed out in 2021, the NDP government recognized the emergency & undertook an unprecedented feat of engineering reopening the hwy to commercial vehicles in only 35 days. But when it comes to the addiction crisis that has killed 16,000 British Columbians in the last 8 years under the NDP, they undertook a radical drug legalization, anti-police agenda that has made problems worse while adding only a meager 100 treatment beds a year - a catastrophic failure by the NDP to prioritize the lives of our most vulnerable. lakecowichangazette.com/news/toxic-dru…

@guyfelicella @LauraBabcock Yes-PP doesn't know that he doesn't know, and speaks with the conviction that he knows all about drug use, etc. That does make him dangerous-as he is acting on a lack of knowledge, understanding, and empathy. It's just about votes it seems.

There are Canadian Conservatives who are not MAGA but if they vote for Poilievre at this dangerous moment in world history they will be enabling that fascist movement in Canada. It's not about left or right. It's about right or wrong. It's our "moral moment". #ElbowsUp 🇨🇦

@elenoresturko @PierrePoilievre OMG- not the NP- the voice of all truth. Safe supply programs are not"so called". How about calling them "not dead yet programs" which BTW would keep people alive so that they could access a space in PP's 50000 treatment spaces(which he has never mentioned before).

Dr. Rob Cooper, Board Member with Addiction Medicine Canada, perfectly describes failed Liberal drug policies in BC and why we need @PierrePoilievre for recovery-focused change: "The Liberal government fuelled the Canadian fentanyl epidemic by giving free hydromorphone to people with addiction, who in turn funded their drug habits with money from trafficking government-supplied drugs."

Assaults on VPD officers are up 25% in 2025, and instead of standing with police, this Premier funds pro-drug / anti-police groups that actively work against them. Today in the Legislature I asked the Premier how British Columbians can feel safe when police are under attack, and he is funding anti-police groups who undermine them?

@elenoresturko We've avoided X for a while. Criminals sell drugs; they did before any safe supply program. Safe supply- unwitnessed even works- the data is there. What really has been wasted in not time; it is the lives of people. 16000-unconscionable. Quit with ur opinons; read the data.

@FranYanor If it is not to be considered anecdotal, you must provide proof (not just based on newspaper articles). It does NOT follow that "100%....new users "are becoming addicted because of safe supply. Again an anecdotal claim; addiction occurs due to a confluence of factors.

@msth_bc The trafficking of safe supply drugs by organized crime is not anecdotal. They are being trafficked across BC, Canada & to other countries. Which means they are 100 % creating opioid addictions in new users.

Great questions. Unfortunately, 5 yrs after the program was implemented, we don't have any of those answers. Because govt never collected any data. As one addictions specialist told me 2 yrs ago: "They don't want to know."

@FranYanor @BCConservCaucus @elenoresturko @ClaireRattee @a_warbus @Dave_Eby Who has died due to dafe supply- diverted or prescribed? Who is still alive due to safe supply? What does the data say?

@JohnRustad4BC Well John, let's ask Alberta for their research and data that shows their approach works and that involuntary treatment would work before promoting this. The disgrace is that we know how to keep people alive long enough to go to treatment- we just don't do it.

guyfelicella🇨🇦🍁@guyfelicella

I think Canadians have overwhelmingly started to reject conservative politicians & their “values” because: 1. They’re actually really mean 2. They’re hypocrites Take @Conservative_BC MLAs, for example. Here we have @HarmanBhanguBC doing a performative post about how he and MLAs @MistyVanPopta and @ToorJody took part in a Coldest Night of the Year Walk, to raise awareness and money FOR PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. Meanwhile, a week ago today, his fellow Conservative MLAs joined a rally AGAINST supportive housing. You read that right. After spreading so much misinformation about a planned HOUSING PROJECT that Richmond City Council cancelled it, @JohnRustand4BC, @TeresaWat, @KoonerSteve, @honchanbc and @TepperBryan STOOD UP AT A RALLY AGAINST HOUSING. So Harman, tell us: ➡️ When you went on the Coldest Night of the Year Walk, did you tell the other participants how your party successfully mischaracterized a planned supportive housing project as a “drug den” 🙄until the municipality felt they had to cancel it? ➡️ Did you tell them how, even after the municipality cancelled it, your party leader and your fellow MLAs STILL went to a rally and promised to fight against future housing projects too? The hypocrisy in your party is next level, — it’s WILD that you could take part in that walk with a straight face. No wonder Canadians are starting to turn away from conservative politics! #BCpoli #HousingFirst #CNOY

@FranYanor @DULFBC @somerspsych @BeatNorthern Julian Somers is always looking for a platform to complain about how he was "done wrong". He sets himself up as knowing more than our PHO. Many of us supported DULF: 1) to stop the deaths from TOXIC drugs for a high risk population & 2)demonstrate that a compassion club works.

@msth_bc @adamzivo @elenoresturko Exactly, Jordons life may have been saved, and I wish to God it had been, if a continuum of care had of been in place for him & his family in 2014. Our Chief Coroner had advocated for that continuum 20 years earlier, and issued his dire warning what would happen if we did not.⬇️
