@ChristinMP_ If they decide on underpass I hope they make sufficient provision for left turn. Whole of 1-9 phases of JP Nagar depend on that left turn. Already right turn coming from JP Nagar is banned illogically!

Bengaluru South Municipal Corporation Commissioner KN Ramesh inspected major traffic congestion & waterlogging spots, directing officials to ensure smooth public movement. At Ragigudda flyover down-ramp, he reviewed congestion and discussed a proposed underpass near Raghavendra Swamy Math junction with traffic police. At Silk Board Junction, he ordered repairs to rajakaluves and drains to prevent flooding. At Banashankari Temple Junction, he reviewed plans for a circular skywalk for pedestrian safety. All forms of Public transportation is the key (not just mass transportation). The current government under @tdkarnataka is discouraging this by banning bike taxi and cab pools, making Metro expensive, higher auto charge (higher than meter fare even on app), no share auto... Can @BJP4Karnataka promise to be different?

Along with DCM Shri @DKShivakumar, flagged off the Silk Board–RV Road rail-cum-road double-decker flyover this morning, connecting HSR to Ragigudda. Urged DCM Shri DK Shivakumar to address the severe congestion and bottleneck at the Ragigudda Raghavendra Swamy Temple junction, which is a direct result of a design flaw in the double-decker flyover - an issue I’ve raised repeatedly. The DCM has directed officials to examine it. Requested the DCM to address this through an underpass at the junction. More flyovers and underpasses don’t solve traffic, they simply shift congestion elsewhere. Mass transport is the key. Also present were Bommanahalli MLA Shri @msrbommanahalli and Jayanagar MLA Shri @CKRBJP.

A fatal road accident was reported on the Addanki–Narketpally Highway near the #Nandipaadu bypass in Miryalaguda, #Telangana’s Nalgonda district, after a speeding car lost control and rammed into multiple victims. The crash involved two motorcycles and a pedestrian, resulting in one death and leaving two others seriously injured. The impact of the collision caused panic in the area, with bystanders rushing to assist the victims. CCTV footage from the spot shows a biker attempting to cross the road when the speeding car struck him, before hitting another biker standing on the roadside and then ploughing into a pedestrian. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, while local authorities reached the scene to manage the situation. Further details on the victims and the circumstances leading to the accident are awaited.

Yesterday, five of us traveled from Nagasandra to Srirampura using the Namma Metro, which cost us ₹300. We then spent another ₹80 on an auto to travel 1.5 km to reach our destination. Imagine paying close to ₹400 just to travel 5–7 km, it's an insane amount. The metro fare is significantly high. Considering the notorious Goraguntepalya traffic jam, we chose the metro, as traveling by cab or bus would have taken at least an extra hour on the road. From what I have read about fare fixation in other cities, metro fares should be no more than 1.5 times the bus fare. A report published in Moneycontrol reiterates the importance of affordable public transport. Poor last-mile connectivity and high metro fares are hurting commuters. It’s high time the Metro board reduces fares, improves last-mile connectivity, and finds alternative ways to generate funds and mobilize resources. @ashwinmahesh Agree on the point that there should have been exit ramp for Bannerghatta road. Disagree on the second one. There should have been a exit ramp after Ragigudda (as is now), but extend the flyover beyond the Raghavendra mutt signal

Any long stretch of signal-free movement should also enable DISTRIBUTION OF MOVEMENT in different directions upon descending. This actually happens when you go from Ragigudda to Silk Board, but is totally missing in the opposite direction. Not only should the corridor have descended further west, additioanlly there should have been arms of the road landing on Bannerghatta Road too.

The landing point for an elevated road should be chosen such that there is long stretch of free movement after that point. We build elevated roads that land at signals, and then we are surprised that they are choking up the road on descent. BMLTA should be strengthened and allowed to do its job as a proper planner of mobility. The combo on Metro, GBA and others winging it is not working, because they don't have the necessary expertise.
