@SaraEisen @VickieforNYC I believe Eric Adams provided advance notice on that deficit too. Something about being a sanctuary city and it cost him his job. Did I get that right @SenSchumer ? As far as I'm concerned ... YOUR failure to lead, is the cause for NY's demise.

Congratulations on kicking the can down the road. The Mayor’s deficit closing relies primarily on a huge bailout from Albany ($8b over 2 years) and delayed payments like pension costs which just get stretched farther into the future
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

Congratulations to Mayor Mamdani. He inherited a huge budget deficit, brought it down to zero, and still invested in childcare, housing and city infrastructure. When municipal governments stand with working families, not billionaires, there is nothing they cannot accomplish.

Saddened to learn of the passing of Abe Foxman. A Holocaust survivor, he devoted his life to combating antisemitism and standing up for the Jewish people. We honor his legacy by continuing to fight for a world free from hate.  May his memory be a blessing.

The impact of the neophyte Socialist Mayor releasing an immature video arrogantly (and naively) targeting entrepreneur and business titan Ken Griffin will continue to have devastating effects on New York City. It sends a very clear message that New York City is closed for business by explicitly telling businesses and founders (and workers!) to move elsewhere. The subsequent brain drain, loss of people and capital, loss of jobs and businesses of all sizes further compounds with the loss of the extraordinary generosity for all types of cultural and charitable institutions in New York City. A real capstone for the amateur Mayor’s first 100 days 🤡🤡📉📉
Bracha@brachahalperin

Citadel CEO Ken Griffin tells CNBC that he will be expanding his company in Miami in reaction to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s viral video, which made Griffin the poster boy for his tax-the-rich campaign. "The only decision that we’ve made with no regrets in the last few days is to expand the size of our office footprint in our new Miami headquarters." "In reaction to New York, we filed a permit with the city of Miami. We've added several hundred thousand square feet of new space in our new building." "We will add far more jobs in Miami over the next decade as an immediate and direct consequence of the mayor's poor decision here, with respect to his posting of that video."

On September 11, 2001, 24-year-old Welles Remy Crowther was working on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center’s South Tower when Flight 175 hit the building. He was trapped 27 floors above the impact zone a place almost nobody survived. But instead of only trying to save himself, Welles stayed behind to help others escape. Before heading into the smoke, he left his mom a voicemail: “Mom, this is Welles. I want you to know I’m OK.” Welles was also a volunteer firefighter back home in New York, and he always carried a red bandana his father gave him as a kid. Survivors later remembered seeing a man with a red bandana covering his face, leading people to safety, carrying injured victims down stairs, and going back up again and again to help more people. He reportedly saved at least 18 lives before the South Tower collapsed. For months, nobody knew who “the man in the red bandana” was. Then in 2002, his mother read survivor stories in a newspaper and realized they were talking about her son. Welles Remy Crowther will always be remembered as a real hero. ❤️

@littlecaesars The only time I bounced a check in my entire life was while I attended college at Virginia Tech at your Blacksburg location. I was a poor college kid but I still remember. I’m sorry. Where can I send a check? 😎

I just want to personally thank Mayor Zohran Mamdani for scaring away the billionaire class from NYC and helping bring billions in tax revenue to my district of Brickell Miami, where Ken Griffin’s Citadel is building its massive Class A office tower next to my office and bringing thousands of high earning professionals to the area. The economic shift into Downtown Miami is truly transformative. Billions in new investments, new jobs, new infrastructure, and a growing tax base can help fund schools, transportation, and the modernization of Miami as it evolves into the new Wall Street of America. Keep the expats coming! @ZohranKMamdani #kengriffen #citadel #miami

Steve Roth opened Vornado’s earnings call with a detour — straight into politics. The chairman weighed in on Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s viral video targeting Ken Griffin… and what it could mean for the future of 350 Park Avenue, an office project the Citadel CEO is developing the tower under a joint venture with Vornado and Rudin. 👇

Good for you Chris. You are fantastic (on Saturdays) ... you are constantly drowned out during the week tho.

But Griffin may not leave. A deal Hochul may have been struck where Griffin gets Hochul elected and in exchange she forces Mandami to resign. Griffin stays, a special election is called and NYC gets to reverse MANDAMI & the DEBLASIO DAMAGE in one move. Griffin will become an expressive NYC resident as he will be in NY more than half the year anyway to build the business. Hochul and the traditional Dem party sees this as the opportunity to remove the Social Dems from NYS and then other cities. It also ends AOC’s run for President. Schumer although a schmuck is onboard. It’s like ripping the weed out by the roots. Leaving a fresh garden with a : Win for Hochul Win for Griffin HUGE win for NYC NYS & USA.

Hochul: “They’ll never leave.” Mamdani: “They’ll never leave.” In NYC, there are 1,532 luxury units priced at $4 million and above actively on the market, with 86 new listings added just last week (Apr 25 – May 1). They’re leaving.
