It's actually Google doing that, not Safari (because Google is the default search engine for Safari/Apple). The "suggested sites" feature is turned ON by default. So you need to turn it off: support.apple.com/is-is/guide/ip… The suggested sites are from Google--I suspect from the Knowledge Graph and Knowledge Panels.

I am getting tons of shit for “promoting awareness” of this, but .ai is no joke. Companies are adopting it. It’s something new (2023) in terms of wider investor interest (so surely it must be shiny and worthless next year) because AI, in a relatively simple form, became accessible to the masses. Look into the topic. We are looking at the basics of AI and arguably even the good part. Just wait till 2-3 years from now. If you think it’s a fleeting technology and flash in the pan, I’ll see you on planet Betelgeuse.

Matt Barrie, CEO of @Escrow_com, revealed a .AI domain name sold for $1.5 million. The domain name had been acquired by an investor for $300k. This is substantially larger than the $250k NPC.ai domain name sale from earlier this year. domaininvesting.com/300k-ai-domain…

RDNH in #snapmobile.com #UDRP. Complainant claims common law rights throughout the United States since at least as early as 2014 to its trademark SNAP! MOBILE. The Complainant alleges that the Respondent has attempted to sell the domain for nearly $400,000 since at least as early as 2018. The Respondent contends he is a Domain Investor, who acquired Domain Name at #Godaddy auctions in 2016. The Panel has no basis on which to conclude that the Complainant has rights in the SNAP MOBILE name as a #trademark. Further, there is no evidence that Respondent was aware of Complainant and the alleged SNAP MOBILE trademark. Indeed, the only use of the #DomainName contained in the record is Respondent's attempt to sell it, which, as set forth above, can be bona fide under appropriate circumstances. The Complainant (who is represented by an attorney) has failed to establish even one of the three elements of the Policy. The Complainant (via its attorney) knew or should have known that it could not succeed in this proceeding – at least not based on the arguments and evidence submitted. As a result, the Panel finds that the complaint was brought in bad faith, in an attempt at RDNH @ adrforum.com/DomainDecision…

I’ve met many people who regret buying the wrong domain name. It was an item to check off the list. They rush, buy one they think is “okay,” and move on. Years later, they’re not getting results, and they call me for help. Save yourself the trouble and call me first.

This is pretty major stuff hitting the BBC. Anyone awake is seeing the transition in motion. Is this a threat to your .com domains? No. They're safe and sound and where every business wants to get to. AI is a potentially end-game tech and that's why companies are scrambling THIS YEAR, not 1997, to get their .ai domain. The whole game has changed, in the same way nobody wanted Bitcoin in 2013. This is no different. Could it take market share from .io, .horse, .xyz etc? Sure. Because AI is applicable to most computer-based businesses (which is most businesses). It may end up with a negative stigma, though, because AI is going to create a MAJOR shake up that people aren't ready for.

The Geo-Domain Industry. Our Time Has Arrived. The recent sale of Vegas.com for a striking $240M to Vivid Seats showcases the immense value and potential of geo-domain names. This sale was more than just a domain transaction; it was a testament to a profitable business underpinned by a powerful, region-specific brand. The success of Vegas.comhinged not only on its superior content and SEO strategies but also on its inherent authority as an exact match city domain, which likely drove significant direct traffic to the site. Such landmark sales serve as a beacon, drawing the attention of investors and developers to the untapped potential of city domain brands. Events like Domain Days Dubai are crucial for spotlighting the importance of digital assets in markets traditionally slow to invest in them. We expect significant investment activity in the coming months from the Middle East wealthy funds, such as Public Investment Fund (PIF), Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Kuwait Investment Authority, Investment Corporation of Dubai, Qatar Investment Authority and more. These brands simply can no longer be overlooked. @PIF_en , @ABUDHABI_FUND , @kuwaitinv , @QF We're just scratching the surface of the domain industry's potential. NEW: New York man John Rote has been arrested after he saved a woman from getting robbed by a homeless man in a Manhattan subway station. The current state of New York City. On Tuesday evening, Rote noticed that a woman was getting robbed and immediately jumped into action. The man pulled out a gun and fired warning shots to stop the robbery. The warning shots spooked the homeless man, saving the woman from getting robbed. According to video footage, Rote noticed the woman getting mugged by 49 year old Matthew Roesch. He then took off his backpack, reached inside, pulled out the gun and fired it off to scare off the attacker. Rote then started getting closer and yelled at Roesch before firing the gun once more. “I want to be clear: We don’t tolerate this kind of conduct in NYC Transit, period,” said city Transit President Richard Davey after Rote was arrested. “Once again cameras recorded a perpetrator, and we are grateful the NYPD made an arrest within hours. Thank goodness nobody was hurt here but what occurred was outrageous, reckless, and unacceptable.” In the video below, the top image is Rote firing off the shots. The bottom image is the homeless mugger. Unreal.
